00:00 In 1948, the British colonial government announced its resignation in order to cut off the anti-British force of the Ma Communists.
00:05 They also declared the Ma Communists as illegal political parties.
00:08 Then, they implemented the "British Plan"
00:11 to force the Chinese living in the forest and rural areas to move to the concentration camps under strict surveillance
00:17 to cut off their contact with the Ma Communists.
00:20 These concentration camps are newly developed villages,
00:22 which is the new village we are talking about now, "Kampong Baru".
00:25 The "British Plan" was carried out in a military-style,
00:30 and completed most of the migration plans between 1950 and 1954.
00:32 It was a big leap forward in the history of our country.
00:35 The famous Malay scholar, Prof. Dazudin,
00:37 believed that the Chinese new village commemorated the dark history of sacrifice, struggle and endurance during the real emergency.
00:43 The new village has a strong Malaysian character,
00:45 because the Chinese saved the Malay Peninsula,
00:47 which made our country free from becoming a puppet of the Communist Party.
00:49 He believed that the Chinese new village was the heritage of Malaysians,
00:52 and that it would cross all racial, religious and cultural boundaries.
