00:00 Kelly Clarkson is taking a legal action against her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, again.
00:07 Just a few months after, she won her case against him in court for millions of dollars.
00:14 According to the complaint filed Monday in Los Angeles, Kelly Clarkson is suing Brandon
00:21 Blackstock and his former management company, Starstruck Entertainment, for allegedly operating
00:28 as an unlicensed talent agency that booked business deals for her dating back to 2007
00:36 in violation of California labor laws, the Talent Agencies Act.
00:41 Her lawsuit obtained by Page Six read that, "Based on the wrongful ad and conduct of Starstruck,
00:49 all agreements between the parties should be declared void and unenforceable, and all
00:55 monies previously paid by cross-complainants to Starstruck should be disgorged from Starstruck
01:03 for a week."
01:04 Clarkson is seeking reimbursement for some of the following, "commission, fees, profits,
01:11 advances, deducing fees, or other monies."
01:14 Blackstock was found not to have acted in accordance with California labor laws, which
01:20 only allow talent agents to enter into an employment agreement with their clients.
01:26 Clarkson is appealing this decision, but Blackstock will have a much weaker case if she wins the
01:32 new suit, which covers an additional 10 years than her initial complaint.
01:37 To respond to Clarkson's latest filing, his lawyer, Brian Friedman, shared a statement
01:43 with Rolling Stone, "It is morally, ethically, and legally wrong to attempt to get money
01:49 back from your ex-husband, who not only helped her as her manager but who used those earnings
01:56 on their children and Kelly and Brandon's lifestyle during the marriage," he said.
02:03 Clarkson's lawsuit forever was filed after Starstruck filed a wrongful suit against her
02:10 in 2020 for unpaid commission from her work on The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show.
