00:00 Yeah, I mean, so this feels insane to me.
00:06 This feels like honestly, Carver, like the collective owners of major league baseball
00:11 are kind of just holding our sport hostage.
00:13 I mean, if Blake Snell coming off of winning the National League, Cy Young can't get five
00:18 years, $40 million per year, $35 million per year with some kind of offsetting injury language
00:24 or whatever, then like, what is the point?
00:27 I mean, like truly, if you were another 30 year old starting pitcher in Blake Snell's
00:32 position, what would even be your motivation?
00:36 You know, because isn't the idea of having a career year like Blake Snell just had to
00:41 get the career year contract reward?
00:44 And you know, normally I'm not, I definitely am not an apologist or a fan of Scott Boris
00:48 or anything like that either.
00:50 But it feels like if Scott Boris, if the guy who's supposed to be, oh, this guy has too
00:55 much power, this guy's the real backdoor influencer of the sport.
00:58 If that guy can't get Blake Snell, can't get his other guys, the money, you know, can't
01:03 get Bellinger the money that they want or whatever, that feels really problematic.
01:08 Yeah, the Giants, I mean, the Giants are like, they're the total island of misfit toys.
01:13 They remain that way.
01:14 They always have good pitching and they totally piece it together with the hitting.
01:19 Like Lamonte Wade is their three-year-old hood, right?
01:21 I can't get that excited about the Giants, I don't think.
