00:04 Now, at 63, I recognize how fast life goes.
00:10 And so I want to see as much on this tiny planet as I can during my lifetime.
00:15 But I also want to encourage and inspire other people to travel.
00:21 To get out there and see the world, to see nature, to see cultures,
00:25 to see something different than where they live.

00:35 Climbing a volcano under the midday sun is no walk in the park.
00:40 The only thing that's keeping me going right now is the anticipation of that view from the crater rim.

00:51 Someone once told me, if you follow what you love, it will not lead you astray.
00:58 There's an insatiable desire in me to explore with the camera in hand.
01:02 I follow my curiosity, my instinct, as it tells me to go to the ends of the earth.

01:15 Just the idea of getting multiple bus-sized animals in one picture, you're recording a remarkable event.

01:36 You know, I want viewers to ask questions. I don't want the obvious to be there.
01:40 They've got to look at it and try and put the pieces of the puzzle together.
01:45 I have spent the last 30 years traveling the world, photographing vanishing cultures,
01:50 with the idea that someday they may be very important to have a record.
01:55 And this shot could be one of those.
