The Rochester Riverside Primary school officially opens

The Bishop of Rochester unveils the plaque to the new school and staff share their thoughts about it finally opening

00:06 Oh, it's been quite a journey. We've had, I think, since 2016 is when we first applied for this school

00:12 and the potential to develop it in the area. It's been an amazing opportunity, lots of blessings on the way,

00:19 lots of challenges as well, but I think just to be here and see the children and see the progress they're already making,

00:26 the enjoyment they have with their new school, has made it all worthwhile.

00:30 The school is lovely, it's amazing, it's brand new, state of the art, children really look happy here.

00:36 And if I could say, with the Midway population on the rise, bringing 180 new places couldn't come at a better time.

00:45 This joint partnership between the Free Schools Programme, Vistri, that was countryside when they were building it,

00:53 Midway Council, with all of those people pulling together, we finally got the school and the building open,

01:00 and officially open today, so really good.

01:03 I'm really excited to see the school officially opened. It's a wonderful facility, it's going to be the heart of the community here,

01:10 and such a great opportunity for parents to become more involved in their children's learning.
