00:00 Yes, so I wonder if you could tell us about the importance of having an officer like Jay
00:03 to engage with your businesses on a daily basis?
00:06 Very important. Obviously Jay's our dedicated police officer for the bid. He has a business
00:11 card which he gives to businesses so they can contact him whenever there's an issue.
00:14 One of the big things that Jay's done is he's just improved communication between when a
00:18 crime's taken place and what happens at the police station. So Jay unblocks those inquiries
00:25 if you like, when perhaps a crime's taken too long to resolve or get a response for,
00:30 Jay will do that. He's also given lots of crime prevention advice, he's talking and
00:35 moving of sleepers from doorways. He's just really the eyes and ears and the person to
00:39 go to when there's a recent issue in the city centre.
00:42 I guess it's really important that businesses know that in the city centre, they're in
00:46 zones like this, it's worth being in the city because they are looked after and there are
00:50 people that are going to...
00:51 I think 'looked after' is a nice phrase to use, I think it is that. He's made some really
00:55 good relationships with lots of businesses, he's been around to see them at least twice.
00:59 There's over 600 visits I think he's made in the last two years.

01:09 as well and the team to know that when there is a problem we can call on Jay for an immediate
01:14 impact. And I think also Jay's involved in all of our meetings, our safety and security
01:18 meetings, our workshops that we have around big safety and things like that. So yeah,
01:26 he's just a great asset to the team.
