00:00 Today, Aussie Arc, in partnership with Parks Australia and WWF, is launching our campaign
00:07 "Help Send Our Eastern Quolls Home".
00:11 This unique campaign aims to raise $100,000 to send 15 eastern quolls to a national park
00:18 on the NSW South Coast.
00:21 Aussie Arc's 15 will be joined by another 5 from Tasmania.
00:26 This project is nationally and globally significant.
00:30 It literally turns back time.
00:32 Namely, the eastern quoll has been missing from mainland Australia for over 50 years.
00:38 It was once abundant along the east coast, but it was decimated by introduced predators
00:43 like the cat and the fox.
00:45 They still live in the wild in Tasmania, but their numbers continue to plummet.
00:52 They're living and thriving at Aussie Arc, and that's thanks to a captive breeding and
00:56 rewilding program that we've run for over 5 years now with Australian Geographic.
01:02 Releases of eastern quolls were attempted as far back as 2018, but with limited success.
01:08 The difference this time is that the quolls being released are born and bred in Aussie
01:13 Arc's Barrington Wildlife Sanctuary.
01:15 That means they're savvy and skilled to live in the wild.
01:19 Our release project this year with Parks Australia and WWF goes one better.
01:24 We'll firstly transition the quolls into a feral-proof 80 hectare enclosure to bolster
01:29 numbers and acclimatise them to the environment before beyond the fence reintroductions are
01:35 tested.
01:38 The quoll's safety and happy futures is paramount, and everyone is giving them the best chance
01:43 to succeed.
01:45 Join Aussie Arc in making this dream a reality.
01:49 We must raise $100,000 to set the quolls up for success.
01:54 Every dollar you donate contributes directly to this campaign.
01:58 It will help finance pre-release activities, including microchipping, health and vet checks,
02:03 food and transport, and help fund ongoing captive breeding efforts.
02:12 Every dollar counts, and every donation over $100 enters a draw to win a stay at Aussie
02:18 Arc's quoll cottage.
02:20 That's worth over $900.
02:25 So please, urgently support and share this campaign with everyone you know.
02:30 There's no time to lose.
02:33 The release is happening this year.
