00:00 This is the story of how our vintage fur coats helped refugees in Ukraine.
00:04 As you may know, we process over 20,000 kilograms of second-hand clothing at our South Yorkshire warehouse every single week.
00:10 And while we don't buy fur product from our suppliers, on occasion some slip through the net and we find them in our vintage bales now and again.
00:17 Once we'd built up around 600 coats, we got in touch with animal rights organisation PETA,
00:22 who regularly distribute donated fur coats to the homeless and refugees all over the world to keep them warm.
00:27 PETA work with the International Aid Trust, who are sending regular aid deliveries to Ukraine
00:33 and they wanted some fur coats to help Ukrainians impacted by the war.
00:37 So we filled up a lorry and the International Aid Trust sent them to areas near Kyiv,
00:41 where they were distributed to local people and refugees from the Donbas region
00:45 to keep them warm during the extremely cold winter they've been experiencing.
00:48 We've been told the coats were very gratefully received
00:51 and the charity even shared some images and videos of our coats keeping people warm.
00:55 Dear brothers and sisters from our close and dear England,
01:01 I congratulate you.
01:02 Thank you for your care and attention to our country and to us, Ukrainians.
01:09 Thank you especially from my heart.
01:11 As PETA say, we can't undo the cruelty that's already been done,
01:14 but we can ensure that these furs go towards protecting vulnerable people in need.
