00:00 M&S and Boots have announced that a thousand jobs are going to be at risk.
00:04 Have you noticed things closing down on the high streets recently?
00:08 Not particularly, no more than usual. I have to say I think Sydenham's done a fantastic job over the last 10-15 years
00:15 in refurbishing the high street. It used to look really crap, now I think it's lovely the way they've repaved it
00:24 and I'm delighted that they restored the Greyhound which I thought was a travesty that they knocked it down.
00:29 Again, I'm not up on the state of the high street but shops are closing down more and more because of online shopping
00:38 I would have assumed and price of living I suppose, those combined.
00:43 And it just must be horrible for those people whose jobs are at risk.
00:49 Have you noticed a change in the high street over the last couple of years?
00:51 No, not really. I haven't, not round here, not where I live.
00:55 I mean there are a lot of independent shops round here so I think they're flourishing.
