00:00 At least five people have been killed in a bus crash on Germany's autobahns.

00:05 The bus left the German capital Berlin heading for the Swiss city of Zurich on Wednesday morning

00:12 with 53 passengers and two drivers on board.

00:16 Just under two hours into the journey near to the city of Leipzig,

00:20 it veered off the autobahn and crashed onto its side.

00:23 Emergency services and air ambulances were on the scene very quickly.

00:28 The statement from the police in the state of Saxony confirmed the deaths of five people

00:35 and said that there had been numerous other injuries.

00:38 Well, the company operating the bus service, Flixbus,

00:43 said they had no indication as to yet as to what had caused the crash.

00:48 Eyewitnesses speaking to the media here in Germany say that no other vehicle

00:53 was involved in this incident and an investigation is continuing.
