00:00 There has been some injury issues though, of course,
00:03 Pascal Struyck being confirmed that he's going to have surgery,
00:07 so that's pretty much his season over with only seven or eight games left.
00:11 That's a frustration for Daniel Farker.
00:13 What's your take on it, Lee?
00:16 Yeah, a massive shame, really.
00:17 I mean, it's just one of those things where you just, I suppose,
00:19 hope it could have been sorted out in a different way and got resolved sooner.
00:22 Obviously, you know, they were rummaging around about sending him for surgery,
00:25 and you can understand why they didn't, because obviously they knew that surgery
00:29 would probably end his season, and that's going to be the case.
00:31 And, yeah, Daniel Farker provided the update at his pre-match press conference
00:35 ahead of the Watford game, saying that the decision had been made to send him
00:38 for surgery, and that did end his season.
00:39 It's a huge shame for Pascal because, you know, he was without doubt
00:43 one of the best performers this season.
00:45 It's amazing to think that that game on Boxing Day at Preston was his last outing.
00:49 You know, I mean, obviously he came for the full game there,
00:51 and, you know, obviously he didn't see many issues.
00:53 Then we got the news that there was an injury, but it was this, you know,
00:55 groin adductor thing and not something that seemed like they were particularly
00:58 worried would keep him out for a long time.
00:59 And it's just one of those things that's just kind of like gone on and on and on.
01:02 And hence why I sort of say, you know, like they probably thought, like, well,
01:05 you know, we'll get it treated and there are injections and, you know,
01:08 various bits and bobs of treatment.
01:09 But ultimately, you know, surgery has been the way forward.
01:12 And look, at least that draws a line under it now,
01:14 and you know that the issue is resolved.
01:15 I mean, obviously the unfortunate thing is that he's now out for the season,
01:18 and it was very quick to go on social media and like put a post about it,
01:22 sort of saying, you know, I'm naturally disappointed.
01:23 Of course he's going to be.
01:25 But they'd be sort of supporting the team, you know, from the sidelines.
01:27 And you got this, I think, was his phrase at the end, you know,
01:30 sort of like expressing confidence that the lads can get over the line without him.
01:35 And the sort of one major saving grace of this is obviously the fact that Pascal's
01:40 obviously been out is the partnership at the back that you've had between
01:44 Ethan Ampadu and JĂ©rĂ´me, who I've said on here before,
01:46 they're like literally like the Welsh brick wall at the back, you know.
01:49 So, I mean, I wouldn't, you know, sort of like be as disrespectful to say Pascal's
01:53 not being missed because he's a great player, you know.
01:55 But I mean, obviously, the fact that those two have done so well and sort of like,
01:58 you know, has kind of like just shored things up at the back anyhow.
02:00 So what it does mean, though, is it does leave him a little bit lighter of options.
02:04 So like if anything was to happen to one of those two or even obviously Ampadu
02:07 has to step into midfield, which could well be the case given injuries.
02:10 You've then got Liam Cooper to come in at centre back.
02:12 And obviously we know he's been there before on one promotion with Leeds.
02:15 And there's also Charlie Creswell, of course, at centre back.
02:18 So, yeah, again, you know, all this does again, really, is it just emphasises
02:22 Leeds United's squad strength and depth, which is absolutely what's needed.
02:25 But yeah, without a doubt, like, I mean, would have been better off with Pascal
02:29 in the mix, no doubt about that.
02:31 It saves Daniel Farker a big selection headache, I think, because I don't know
02:35 what he'd have done with when Pascal was back, considering how well those two
02:38 have done at centre back.
02:40 But yeah, all the best to Pascal.
02:42 He's again a tough character.
02:44 He's had injuries before and setbacks before and always bounced back.
02:47 And again, someone who's still relatively young and still progressing.
02:49 And, you know, you just hope that by the time he's back, which will obviously be
02:53 pre-season, his team will be in the Premier League.
02:55 And yeah, let's hope that's the case.
02:56 And, you know, I think it probably will be.
