Pom Pom is a 1984 Hong Kong action comedy film directed by Joe Cheung Tung-cho (張同祖). It is the first in a series of four Pom Pom films starring Richard Ng Yiu-hon (吳耀漢) and John Shum Kin-Fun (岑建勳).
Ah Chau (Richard) and Beethoven (John) are a pair of CID detectives investigating a drug lord, but their ineptitude threatens to derail the case. The police are well aware that Mr Sha (陳龍 Chan Lung) is the boss of the crime syndicate smuggling and trafficking in drugs, and that he keeps details of his criminal transactions in a book which is kept by his mistress.
When Ah Chau and Beethoven investigate, they find Sha's mistress dead, and inadvertently compromise all fingerprint evidence in the hideout. Luckily, they are assisted by beautiful lady police Inspector Anna (葉德嫻 Deannie Yip Tak-han), who is secretly attracted to Ah Chau. Finally the two make their arrests and become instant heroes.
