00:00 I'm still blown away.
00:07 Because theater is technical and creative.
00:12 And the marriage of both was just phenomenal.
00:18 Really beautiful.
00:21 The engineer was so engaging, so talented.
00:25 And he made it very now.
00:28 Do you see yourself playing the engineer someday?
00:33 I thought it was Kim.
00:35 That's an engineer.
00:37 That would be lovely.
00:39 That's an amazing role to play.
00:41 The possibilities are endless.
00:45 Props to Kim. I don't know who played today.
00:48 Abigail.
00:50 Abigail played today.
00:52 I'm such a fan now.
00:55 Her choices, when to go soft, when to go loud.
00:59 When to be heartfelt and when to be all out.
01:03 Amazing production.
01:05 Kudos to everybody. Amazing.
01:07 Oh my gosh. I'm heartbroken.
01:10 A tragedy.
01:12 Yes, what a tragedy.
01:14 But I'm really amazed with the singing and the acting of the cast.
01:20 I'm proud because there are Filipinos.
01:23 As a theater person, I really appreciated the music.
01:30 If you're a musical play lover or a fan, this is a must watch.
01:38 You performed in Broadway yourself.
01:41 Yes, The Here Lies Love.
01:43 How does that compare to your experience?
01:46 Well, I'm watching it now.
01:50 I was the one performing.
01:53 Actually, I watched it in New York before.
01:56 But that was years ago.
01:58 And you saw Leia here?
01:59 It wasn't Leia Pangay.
02:01 It was in New York.
02:03 This is the second time I watched it again.
02:07 And the cast were amazing.
02:09 The visuals, the stunning stage, the props, everything.
02:16 It was so good.
02:18 I think you guys should watch it.
02:20 It was amazing.
02:22 I'm super, super happy.
02:24 It's actually my first time to attend a Gala Night in Solaire.
02:27 Specifically in Solaire.
02:29 It was a different experience.
02:32 And I'm happy because I get to see familiar faces.
02:36 Most especially from theater people.
02:39 Because I did a musical before and 9 works.
02:43 So I'm so happy I got to see them again.
02:46 And I'm just so excited because it has been a long time.
02:52 I'm really coming from the pandemic time.
02:56 Because I'm an artist.
02:58 So I feel like I've been stuck for a long time.
03:02 And I think it's starting slowly for everyone.
03:07 So I'm super happy that I get to experience this Gala Night of Miss Saigon.
03:12 And hopefully, hopefully, maybe they'll come back here.
03:18 Maybe I'll be in the next part of Miss Saigon.
03:21 Thank you so much.
03:23 Thank you.
03:24 Okay, first.
03:26 Ah, my eyes are closing.
03:29 I've always loved Saigon.
03:30 I've always loved the story.
03:33 And tonight, the actors were really good.
03:36 They were so good.
03:38 My head hurts from crying.
03:41 Okay, that's good.
03:43 Thanks.
03:44 What I like about all these Miss Saigon productions is it keeps evolving.
03:51 Because I watched Leia's before.
03:54 And then I watched the one here in Manila.
03:56 And then I watched Eva's on DVD.
04:00 And then this one, I didn't watch Joanna's.
04:03 I chose it because I heard about it.
04:05 So it evolved, evolved, and evolved.
04:08 Which is good.
04:10 And at the same time, it kept evolving.
04:14 It tested the talent of the Hussay, especially the Filipinos.
04:18 Especially the engineers.
04:20 How did you like the new NG Queer?
04:24 It shifts.
04:26 In front of you, it shifts.
04:28 It keeps shifting.
04:30 So, Hussay, Hussay.
04:32 Compared to the old Hussay.
04:34 The old Hussay is still there.
04:36 It keeps evolving with the times, with the audience.
04:41 I was really wowed by the production.
04:46 Watching Miss Saigon so many times.
04:49 Each time, it doesn't get old.
04:52 Each attack of every production is as new.
04:56 It brings me back to the first time I watched it.
04:59 Or the second time.
05:00 There's always magic with the show.
05:02 I think it's what awakened the little child, theatrical child in all of us.
05:08 When we watched Miss Saigon, when a whole generation, or generations and generations of Filipino theater actors, artists, went all over the world and raised our flags in the capitals of the world.
05:22 So, for me, it's such a sentimental favorite.
05:25 I get goosebumps each time.
05:27 I'm singing all the songs in my head.
05:29 I'm being one with the people on stage and in the whole audience.
05:34 Amazing show.
05:35 Are you thinking you can do the engineer?
05:38 I can dress like the engineer.
05:40 Hi! Okay, we're at the intermission now.
05:44 Miss Saigon is everything.
05:47 You know how, because the last time I saw her was 20 years ago.
05:51 It's just amazing.
05:52 Chiara, Dario, I'm so proud of you.
05:55 Every time she was on stage, my eyes were on her.
05:59 She is the Gigi with power and strength and stillness and pain.
06:04 I'm just so proud of her.
06:06 Abigail is wonderful.
06:08 She's a joy to watch.
06:09 But I'm so excited for Act 2.
06:11 Is this your first time to see Miss Saigon?
06:14 No, I saw Miss Saigon when I was really young.
06:16 When Leia was here in TCP.
06:19 Of course, I was 10, 9.
06:22 I don't know how old I was.
06:23 But funnily enough, I was also in the play shop.
06:27 I was already theater obsessed at the time.
06:30 So, of course, at that time, Miss Saigon was the soundtrack.
06:34 We memorized everything.
06:36 So, now, of course, lyrics are different and elements are different.
06:41 But the heart of it is still the same.
06:43 I'm so happy to be here, actually.
06:47 If you were to play a role in Miss Saigon,
06:50 what would you like to be in the play?
06:53 Before, if you asked me maybe 10 years ago,
06:57 Kim was a dream role for a long time.
07:00 I actually auditioned for Kim and Gigi.
07:03 The three times that there were auditions here.
07:06 But I'm just happy to watch.
07:08 I'm just happy that I get to see it again and all its glory.
07:12 You're up for a bigger and better role in the future.
07:17 Because you're so talented.
07:19 Thank you.
07:20 Alright.
07:21 I'm just so amazed to finally see Miss Saigon.
07:24 It's just the first part.
07:26 But I'm already like somehow crying.
07:29 Because it's so nice to see some of the Filipino talent shine on stage, internationally.
07:36 One of my dream roles was really Thuy.
07:39 And this is my first time seeing Saigon live.
07:43 So, I'm just so happy and so freaking amazed by the show.
07:48 You should watch it, guys.
07:50 Alright.
07:51 Hi, this is Paolo Balanchano.
07:54 We're about to see Miss Saigon.
07:56 And to be completely honest, I am here to support Kiara Atario.
08:00 She was part of Joseph the Dreamer as Mrs. Potiphar.
08:05 And let me just claim to fame.
08:10 I'm so proud that Joseph the Dreamer was her first major role.
08:20 So, I feel like her kuya right now.
08:24 So proud to see her.
08:27 You were her first director.
08:30 For a big role.
08:32 So, really excited.
08:34 I want to see this new version of Miss Saigon.
08:37 And so many people from the industry here.
08:40 Yay.
08:41 Thanks.
08:42 Thanks.
