00:43 - You train, you've seen Eric train a lot,
00:46 probably in the last year.
00:47 Tell us what your thoughts of Eric Arellano.
00:49 - Man, really quick hands for a heavyweight.
00:52 Really quick hands.
00:53 So he has some experience, a lot of experience in the ring.
00:56 So I'm excited to see him tonight.
00:58 He's looking real healthy, looking fast coming out.
01:01 So yeah, I'm just ready for the show, man.
01:03 - Albert, what do you see early
01:06 from the slimmed down Eric Arellano?
01:10 - As you see, again, Eric's always gonna
01:14 kinda take his time in the first round,
01:18 kinda feel his opponent out and see how he can touch him.
01:21 Once he learns where his angles is, he's gonna attack it.
01:27 - It's a very interesting opponent in Rafael Carallone.
01:31 His record says two and four,
01:32 but as you can see, he's a southpaw,
01:34 and the word that usually goes along with southpaw
01:36 is tricky, and a right hand lands from Arellano.
01:39 We saw what he did with Kevin Torian a couple fights back,
01:43 kind of used angles, landed some shots.
01:45 Good right hand again from Arellano.
01:48 - But again, when you're facing Eric Arellano,
01:51 like Eric is a seasoned fighter.
01:54 He's only 19, but for him to spend, like I said,
01:58 like two years during the COVID season
02:02 in the Canelo Alvarez camp, he learned a lot.
02:05 Like he learned a lot, and you can see that experience.
02:10 So like again, he's just like, right now,
02:13 Arellano's just feeling him out,
02:15 and then you're gonna see more dynamics
02:17 like in the second round.
02:18 - What do you see in the first half
02:20 of the first round, Ryan?
02:22 - Eric's just been patient,
02:23 picking his shots, he's using his jab.
02:26 Like I said, I just feel like he's gonna continue
02:28 to fill him out this round,
02:29 and second round, he'll start to pick his shots.
02:32 But he is getting to him,
02:33 a lot towards the end of this first round,
02:35 so just expecting more of that the second round.

02:58 when fighting a southpaw, being an orthodox fighter.
03:01 - Man, me fighting a southpaw,
03:03 well of course the last bit, why he was a southpaw,
03:05 so I was just looking for my right hand a lot,
03:07 doubling up on the right,
03:08 might take one up to the head, one to the body,
03:11 but doubling up on that right,
03:13 looking forward to the body especially, man,
03:15 that body shot, straight right to the body
03:17 is why it opened, man.
03:18 - Moment to go, a nice jab snuck through for Carolina.
03:23 - Yeah, as you can see,
03:24 'cause you're gonna have to go with your weak hand

03:29 - Yeah.
03:30 - Slapping left hook for Carolina, gets through.

03:56 and what you'll be down to a welterweight,
04:00 but he has that power of a heavyweight,
04:04 and that's where you're gonna see,
04:06 even though his opponent weighs about 10 pounds more
04:09 than he does, you're gonna see a difference
04:12 with his power and his speed.

04:58 you seem pretty damn comfortable in the ring
05:03 when I've been watching you.

05:09 a lot of hard training, I trust my trainer,
05:11 so that's why I tend to be a lot comfortable in the ring,

05:17 How do you think a guy, six foot seven, 300 pounds,
05:21 maybe with a last name Hainsworth,
05:22 how would he do in boxing?
05:24 - Ah, he'd be dangerous, man.
05:27 He'd be dangerous.
05:27 He's already strong, got the athletic background
05:30 in another sport, that's all you need, man.
05:32 Once you learn the basics, everything, crossover.
05:35 - Double jab, a right hand from Arilano Carolina,
05:38 Clayton back now holding on.
05:40 - You know, he landed a good, solid,
05:44 like a right cross on Eric that,
05:48 that shook him, but hey, it didn't mess with Arilano,
05:52 so like, you can see how he advances.
05:56 - Even though Arilano went the distance twice
05:58 with Javier Frazier, I think on paper,
06:00 and we've seen Carolina, this could be
06:03 the toughest opponent to date for Arilano,
06:05 is Carolina sneaks in a right hand.
06:09 - You know, and this is good for Eric.
06:10 He wouldn't be a young fighting guy
06:12 that's coming to fight back.
06:13 You know, that's a good test for him.
06:15 - It's kind of like your fight last time,
06:18 even though you got the knockout,
06:20 you knew that Bit Y was gonna, you know,
06:22 provide you with something that maybe
06:25 you haven't seen before, you know,
06:28 sanctioned fights, maybe seen in sparring and whatnot.
06:31 And Carolina trying to flick away

06:37 - You know, one thing that's gonna be really good,
06:41 you know, for Eric is like, he's gonna be able
06:43 to go back and look at this film
06:46 and study like what he needs to get better at.

08:08 Very competitive two rounds so far.
08:11 - So one thing I'd like to see from Eric
08:24 is like, I'd like to see some more jabs.
08:27 Like to, you know, to keep him off balance.
08:30 Like, 'cause like, Eric has a array of punches,
08:36 I think he needs to start leaning out with a jab
08:38 instead of like the power punches.
08:41 - Yeah, set some of those shots up behind that jab.
08:44 - Back here for round three, scheduled for six,
08:48 Eric Arilano and Rafael Carolina.
08:50 Arilano trying to land the hard jab early.
08:56 - Again, like I'd like to see him just like,
09:01 really just punch, not try to sit here,
09:03 like, 'cause I feel like he's wanting to,
09:06 wanting to like kind of knock him out.
09:08 And I know he wants to do that,
09:10 but like, I want to see, I want to see,
09:12 like Eric's jab, yeah.
09:15 - Carolina, started boxing at the age of 17,
09:21 just said he always wanted to box.
09:23 Spawned a 20 fight amateur career
09:25 as he tries to sneak in a jab.
09:26 Arilano lands a good left hook.
09:32 And as you can hear, I don't know if you can hear
09:34 in the background, we have Ortega,
09:36 you know, one of his good friends,
09:38 and also Eric Arilano, like a translate,
09:42 you see something in our interviews
09:46 that he's talking to Arilano like what to do.
09:50 And again, it seems like he wants to land more punches,
09:53 land more jabs before he start like,
09:57 he's trying to hit the power punches.

10:01 - Yeah, what I'm saying is every time Eric comes forward,

10:09 - Yeah, Carolina, he's getting off balance.
10:11 So I think Eric just has to come forward with that jab
10:13 and, you know, set all his other punches up behind that.

10:17 every time Eric comes forward.

12:02 Supposed to fight a guy out of California,
12:05 Jesus Haro, last year, we got a call or text from them,
12:09 we looking forward to setting that up sometimes.
12:11 Guillermo Gretas out of Texas, he's fighting,
12:17 I think March 16th for the NABF title at 115,
12:20 so we looking at that.
12:24 - You're fighting at 118, are you married to Bantamweight
12:29 or is 115 possibly in your future?
12:31 - Right now, it's hard to find guys at really lower weight,
12:34 so we're coming out at 118,
12:37 anywhere between 112, 118, but I can make low as low as 105.
12:42 So I'm comfortable at any of those major lower weight
12:45 classes, so any guys that have those major lower weight
12:47 classes, you know, WBO champion,
12:50 Jonathan Benbow Gonzalez at 108,
12:52 I wouldn't mind setting something up with him.
12:54 - Round three is scheduled for six.
12:59 Got Eric Arreola and Rafael Carolina locked in,
13:03 very competitive fight early here.
13:06 Believe Arreolana has won the first two rounds unofficially,
13:11 but you know, he's getting some,
13:15 what they call professional resistance,
13:17 good left hook from Arreolana.
13:20 You know, like, 'cause I know he can land,
13:22 he can land the power punches when he needs to,
13:25 but like, I wanna see Arreolana just like more,
13:29 like a little bit of jab, like he got a box
13:32 and not just try to like knock him out.
13:34 And then like, if he can go to the jab,
13:36 maybe go to the body a little bit,
13:38 you know, like right now I feel like he's headhunting
13:40 a little bit more, you know, and then you see like Carolina
13:43 is like more like hitting the body,
13:45 trying to just to gain points.
13:47 - Carolina was stopped for the first and only time
13:50 in his career in his last fight back on December the 16th
13:53 in New York by Pernelli Feliz,
13:55 a guy who we've seen on Country Box,
13:57 very highly regarded prospect who was once ranked
14:01 number one in the country as an amateur.
14:03 Oh, there's good right hand.
14:05 - I believe that one hurt him,
14:09 he hasn't clinched the whole fight.
14:11 - Corner Arreolana thinks he stunned him.
14:16 - He definitely did.
14:19 - Yeah, he hasn't clinched the whole fight.
14:21 - Yeah, I mean, it's like going back him up
14:25 and then he got a little bit of blood
14:26 coming out of his mouth too.
14:28 - Ryan, when you hit a guy with several big right hands
14:33 or I guess that's the shot right now for Arreolano,
14:36 sometimes can that get you off your game plan
14:38 and get maybe a little right hand happy?
14:40 - Yeah, yeah, definitely.
14:43 I looked at the footage from the last fight I had
14:46 and I felt like I got a little right hand happy at the end,
14:48 but yeah, most definitely.
14:50 - You land some good ones early,
14:52 you kind of forget about getting back to the basics.
14:55 - What do you think like Ryan,
15:03 like things that you really look at your film
15:06 from your past fights or what you can do
15:11 and what you can improve on, yeah?
15:12 - Yeah, yeah, especially the last fight.
15:14 That was the first time I actually sat down
15:16 and kind of watched film on my fight
15:18 'cause that was the first guy I actually fought
15:21 that was there to win.
15:22 So that was just a good experience for me
15:25 fighting somebody like that
15:26 and actually sitting down watching film
15:27 and just seeing shots that I missed,
15:30 me not keeping my hands up on certain exits.
15:33 So yeah, it was a really good experience
15:35 just sitting and watching that.
15:37 - The important thing is we got a few seconds before
15:39 the end of the round,
15:40 how was the commentating of that fight?
15:43 - It was good, it was really good.
15:48 - Coming to the end of round three,
15:49 we're halfway home in our main event.
