00:02 - My name is Maryam.
00:06 I'm a stay at home mother.
00:08 I have two beautiful kids, Saif and Marwa.
00:11 (upbeat music)
00:13 - My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago.
00:19 We were like shocked when we got the news
00:22 because we were not really ready
00:23 with the finances and everything.
00:25 My mother, she did everything A to Z for us,
00:29 me, my brother and my sister, we're three siblings.
00:31 She earned the money, she did everything
00:33 and we started working in a very early age
00:35 to help my mother.
00:36 The minute we knew the news,
00:38 I still remember that we needed money for the biopsy.
00:41 My mother's insurance was not covering that.
00:44 So we were like lost, like what should we do?
00:47 But we, alhamdulillah, managed,
00:48 all brother and sisters did that.
00:50 But what I feel is that at that time,
00:52 if I had enough money saved,
00:55 I would just manage the whole situation.
00:58 What I learned is like, if you save money today,
01:01 money is gonna save you tomorrow.
01:03 So we really need to, you know, look like we need to,
01:07 you know, we need to see our present.
01:09 Like we need to save money so tomorrow money can help us.
01:12 The advice that I always remember from my uncle is that,
01:16 you need to care about the time
01:17 because you know, you have to make the right decisions
01:21 on right time because if you lose time,
01:23 it's not gonna come back and you'll regret.
01:25 My goal is that I want to have money for my,
01:29 I would say, you know, life is full of surprises.
01:32 You know what comes your way.
01:33 But one thing that I really want to be with me
01:35 in my account is that enough money for my medical treatment.
01:39 I don't wanna be like, you know,
01:40 somewhere where, you know,
01:42 I can't afford my treatment or something.
01:43 I wanna be like, I don't wanna be in that place.
