00:00 If you knew me, you would know that I just wrote my speech while I was getting my eyelashes on.
00:04 Have a beautiful night and thank you so much.
00:06 The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards highlighted the biggest musicians in the world from Beyonce
00:12 to Cher, SZA and Green Day. AXS Hollywood is breaking down the top moments from the star-studded
00:19 show. It was a big night for Beyonce at the 2024 iHeartRadio Awards on Monday. The 42-year-old
00:26 singer won the 2024 Innovator Award and was given the honor by none other than Stevie Wonder, whom
00:32 she thanked during her moving speech for his contributions to the music industry and her new
00:36 album Cowboy Carter. The mom of three then got candid while talking about all the hate that can
00:42 come with being an innovator. Innovation starts with a dream but then you have to execute that
00:48 dream and that road can be very bumpy. Being an innovator is seeing what everyone believes
00:53 is impossible. Being an innovator often means being criticized which often will test your
01:01 mental strength. Being an innovator is leaning on faith and trusting that God will catch you
01:06 and guide you. So to all the record labels, every radio station, every award show, my hope is that
01:13 we're more open to the joy and liberation that comes from enjoying art with no preconceived
01:18 notions. Queen B finished her speech by sweetly thanking her three kids, 12-year-old Blue Ivy and
01:25 six-year-old twins Rumi and Sir. My husband, my rock, my best friend, I love you.
01:32 My three beautiful children who continue to be my inspiration and my biggest blessing.
01:40 Have a beautiful night and thank you so much. Beyonce wasn't the only music legend honored
01:47 Monday night. Meryl Streep was on hand to present her friend Cher with the Icon Award
01:52 and hilariously looked back at their friendship in her tribute. The song that I carried in my head
01:58 in 1965 was the number one hit and it was "I Got You Baby" and the girl who sang on that record I
02:09 found out Cher, she was 17 years old which I thought was really old. She could have been a
02:17 senior and now we both are seniors. Meryl then got deep praising her friend for her talent and
02:27 all the work she's done for women and LGBTQ rights. The tribute didn't stop there. Jennifer
02:32 Hudson then got on stage to belt Cher's hit "If I Could Turn Back Time" before the music legend
02:38 joined her on stage to sing "Believe" and when it came down for her speech Cher did not disappoint.
02:44 Have a dream and then don't give it up no matter what happens because I know from my own experience
02:53 that if you have a dream and you stick with it you will have a wonderful life and it probably
02:59 will come true. Everyone was fangirling over SZA. T-Pain and Meghan Trainor presented the singer
03:05 with three iHeartRadio awards including R&B Artist of the Year but they couldn't stop freaking out
03:11 over the 34 year old on stage. Oh my god she's looking at us. When SZA received her award she
03:18 literally bowed down to T-Pain before giving a heartwarming speech but that wasn't all. SZA then
03:24 came back at the end of the show to accept the honor for Song of the Year and admitted she
03:29 couldn't believe this was real life. The iHeartRadio award celebrated all genres of music
03:34 Monday night and honored Green Day with the landmark award for their decades of hits and
03:39 who better to introduce their performance than fellow rock icon Avril Lavigne. It was also a
03:45 special night for Jelly Roll who won Best New Artist Popping Country but his speech got the
03:50 crowd on their feet as he looked back at the adversities he's faced in order to make it big
03:55 on the radio. My mama always told me I had a face for radio baby. You don't know what this means to
04:02 a kid like me. I was thinking about it. What does it mean when a guy like me has the opportunity to
04:08 be the new pop artist of the year at iHeartRadio's award? It means that God will always use the least
04:16 likely messenger with the biggest message every single time you can take it to the bank baby.
04:21 Other top moments Justin Timberlake kicked off the show with a mash-up of his song Selfish and
04:26 No Angels. Tate McRae belted out her hit singles Greedy and Excess. Fessupluma and Gorilla introduced
04:34 an iconic performance by TLC and host Ludacris sang his hit All I Do Is Win with T-Pain.
