ACCC to get more power to block ‘harmful’ acquisitions

Australia's competition watchdog will be given far stronger powers to prevent companies making repeated under-the-radar acquisitions which would give them unfair leverage. The changes are the biggest reforms to merger rules in almost 50 years.
