00:57 According to President Marcos, this is also an opportunity for the summit
01:00 to discuss their plans for the betterment of the region and how it can be used unilaterally.
01:07 President Biden said that the partnership of the three countries is based on the unity
01:11 of an Indo-Pacific that is free, open, prosperous and safe.
01:17 When we stand as one, we're able to forge a better future for all.
01:22 And that's what this new trilateral is all about, in my view.
01:27 Building a better future for people across the Indo-Pacific and quite frankly, beyond, around the world.
01:33 Prime Minister Kishida's commitment to the goals of their government
01:38 is strongly reflected in the Philippines and the United States.
01:41 The three leaders believe that the journey of unifying the region
01:45 to address the difficult issues facing the region has just begun.
01:49 Today's historic summit is a culmination of several preparatory engagements
01:53 between our foreign ministries, our national security advisors and our vice ministers,
01:59 as well as the conduct of trilateral maritime exercises and joint development cooperation.
02:04 Biden also gave the United States a stronger alliance with the Philippines.

02:11 The United States, the United States' defense commitments to Japan
02:16 and to the Philippines are ironclad.
02:19 They're ironclad.
02:21 As I've said before, any attack on Philippine aircraft vessels or armed forces
02:27 in the South China Sea would invoke our mutual defense treaty.
02:32 President Biden also promised President Marcos a strong work and leadership.
02:38 According to President Biden, this will happen
02:41 with the help of launching the so-called Economic Corridor in the Philippines.
02:46 I'm proud to announce we're launching an Economic Corridor in the Philippines
02:51 as part of the G7's Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment.
02:56 This is the first corridor in the Indo-Pacific.
03:00 It means more jobs for people across the entire region.
03:04 It means more investment in sectors critical to our future.
03:08 Clean energy, ports, railroads, agriculture and much more.
03:14 The Luzon Corridor is where Subic Bay, Clark, Manila and Batangas will connect.

04:19 The three leaders of the Presidential Trade and Investment Mission in the Philippines
04:24 and more than US$1 billion of US investments
04:27 will support the innovation economy of the Philippines and the clean energy transition.
