00:00If we do take a look at that wild card race, you take a look at the Tampa Bay Lightning
00:06in that top spot there, then followed by the Penguins, Capitals, Wings and Flyers, 86 points
00:12for the Penguins.
00:13The next three teams alone, all tied at 85.
00:15Now, myself here, Pete, as a Flyers fan, the dreaded three-point game happened yesterday,
00:20which was an overtime victory for Pittsburgh going up against Detroit.
00:23But if we're looking at that final spot here, is it the Penguins to grasp, or can one of
00:27those other teams, in your opinion, claim that final wild card spot here?
00:33I'm not a believer in Washington.
00:35They don't have good underlying metrics.
00:37I don't know how they're still around.
00:38Spencer Carberry deserves a ton of praise for that.
00:41Obviously, it's an older team and stuff like that with Ovechkin and Oshie and stuff like
00:46that, John Carlson.
00:48They're hanging around.
00:49Philly is ahead of schedule.
00:51I'm still high on that team long-term, but only one win in their past nine or ten games
00:56isn't cutting it.
00:57I will say Detroit is ahead of schedule as well and has a younger core, plus the addition
01:02of Patrick Kane this season.
01:04So if anybody's going to steal it from Pittsburgh, it could still be Detroit.
01:07You saw them come back from a multi-goal deficit in the game against Pittsburgh, earn a point,
01:13and that was a key crucial point with a couple games to go.
01:17One bad game, one blunder could really tilt the scale for or against Pittsburgh.
01:23So Detroit's doing a nice job hanging around.
01:26We'll be right back.
