00:00 One more goal for Bakayo this weekend, he becomes the first English player to reach
00:10 15 league goals for Arsenal since Ian Wright. We all know how highly regarded Ian Wright
00:19 is when it comes to this club. How confident are you that one day Bakayo will be held in
00:27 those same terms and grandeur as someone like Ian Wright?
00:32 Keep learning from what Ian did, his character, his consistency, the hunger that he had always
00:38 to improve and be in front of goal. If he does that with the quality that he has and
00:43 the players that go around him, he's got a chance.
00:46 Do you think he needs to help you win a title as Ian did to be able to get to that level?
00:53 For sure, obviously. I think the team's success is really important to elevate a player to
00:58 that category and we still need to do that.
01:01 Bakayo was someone who got kicked all the time, someone who constantly played through
01:08 pain. He's not the only one who's talked about that this season, Jesus has talked about it,
01:14 I think Defne has talked about it, Raya was taking painkillers during the game. All your
01:19 players are now willing to play through that kind of pain. What does that say about the
01:26 mentality of this group and this team that you've got, that all these players are willing
01:31 to put all that pain aside to battle for this cause of you winning the title?
01:38 That's a quality that a team that wants to be successful and win has to have because
01:43 you have to go through pain, through difficult moments, through good moments, through moments
01:49 that you have to give and support others, moments of doubt, high moments and you have
01:56 to be able to cope with all those to be at the top.
01:59 Looking at your changes you've made in the last few weeks, it would seem like rotation
02:08 at this stage of the season is very important to be able to rotate without it having a bad
02:13 impact on the side of it. Is that true and how good is it that you've got the opportunity
02:21 to rotate this season where maybe you didn't last season?
02:26 We talked about it and having the squad healthy and the players that we have available obviously
02:30 that's a big bonus. As you said it's about making the right ones and the answer to that
02:39 is always if you win the game because that's the only judgement you're going to get. But
02:44 the intention to keep everybody involved and important and fresh I think is going to be
02:50 crucial.
02:51 Does it give you a bit of a headache when you've got Trossard, Martinelli, Gabriela
02:58 and Sinchenko playing beautifully when he comes on? It's a good headache for the last
03:06 seven games or not?
03:07 I haven't experienced good headaches in my life but I think it's a good problem to have.
03:12 Especially because after they respond and the toughest thing in our job is not to play
03:20 players and especially when they deserve to play. When you give them the chance and
03:23 they respond the way they have done recently as well I think it's a really positive thing
03:28 to have.
03:29 Is it the most powerful squad you've had at your disposal with everyone being fit apart
03:36 from Timber at the moment?
03:39 I don't know. I don't like comparing. I think we have a really strong squad at the moment
03:44 and they are in a good place which is really important.
03:47 12 points from 21 at the end of last season, that obviously wouldn't be enough this time
03:54 round. How confident are you that that is going to be a lot higher?
03:59 We're going to try our best. Let's just start on Sunday.
