00:00Welcome to Bama Central's Instant Analysis. I am Will Miller here with Kim
00:04Rankin after a big series win for number 25 Alabama over number one Arkansas here
00:09in Tuscaloosa. Five to nothing your score here today on Sunday afternoon. The story
00:13of today is Zane Adams spinning an absolute gem. The freshman coming in
00:16weekend rotation has been besieged by injuries. What's he do? He just comes out
00:20here and throws a shutout in and he's against one of the best teams in the
00:23country and a team that was right up there in pole position in the
00:26conference. Alabama gets two big SEC wins this weekend regardless of who
00:30they're playing those wins are huge for the conference standings but another big
00:34win yesterday and extra innings overall just a badly needed effort strung
00:38together by this ball club. Yeah absolutely I mean they came in in a
00:41really rough position losing five games in a row obviously getting swept in
00:44Lexington last weekend and then losing that midweek game where you were up four
00:49to nothing and then gave away five unanswered runs by South Alabama, four
00:53and then gate one against Arkansas obviously they scored five quick runs
00:57Alabama attempted to come back there Friday night but just couldn't get it
01:00done lost five to three to give them the fifth loss in that slump and then
01:04bounce back last night in extras with you know you had two solo shots and then
01:08Arkansas responded with two solo shots right back and it looked like we had one
01:11in the bottom of the eighth with T.J. McCants hitting that RBI double and then with two
01:15outs at the top of the ninth Arkansas's Peyton Stovall tied up the game and
01:18then took it to extras where Mason Swinney scored the game-winning run on
01:22an error by the Arkansas pitcher and I mean regardless of who you're playing I
01:25know Arkansas's the number one team in the nation possibly playing the Knights
01:28number one team in the nation next week so very very rough homestand but I mean
01:33no matter who you're playing right here in this position after losing you know
01:35four or five games in a row that's just a huge huge huge momentum push to win
01:39whatever series it is to kind of get back into the swing of things and good
01:42on Alabama for not kind of letting that slump get to them and kind of keeping
01:46them back in the conversation here not only the SEC but the national rankings I
01:50assume they're gonna still be ranked here come tomorrow when D1 releases
01:53their rankings we got absolutely incredible weekend on both sides of the
01:57ball pitching and batting which have both struggled in this little slump.
02:00That's true but there's no rest for the weary because it's more likely than not
02:03that Texas A&M does slide at that number one position and that is who comes to
02:07town here in Tuscaloosa next weekend that's a team that's got some scuds yeah
02:11and everybody's difficult in the SEC nobody's winning on the road the
02:15parodies through the roof LSU and Florida both struggling but it's not
02:20about that right now you're playing Texas A&M you got out of this slump
02:23losing five games in a row like you mentioned some in really really tough
02:27fashion some way or another but we'll see what happens either way big series
02:31win here over Arkansas something this ballclub needed and thank you for
02:35watching Bama Central's Instant Analysis.
