00:00 Day Fever, it's three o'clock in the afternoon, we're backstage at BAD in the Barrowlands area of Glasgow
00:06 and we're ready for a party. Vic and Johnny are here.
00:10 Tell us a bit about this idea and what kind of atmosphere you've managed to capture in Day Fever.
00:15 Yes, taking off brilliantly, we sort of had an idea that maybe people of a certain age would want to go out a bit earlier in the day
00:22 and we put one on, didn't we, in Sheffield before Christmas and it sold out straight away.
00:26 So then we thought in January, let's try it from other places and they told us for a different amount of money to sell tickets
00:32 and they all sold out as well so we're delighted to be in Glasgow, one of our favourite cities, for the first ever one.
00:37 We're in a wonderful old building and venue and already you can hear it, the party's starting.
00:43 What's your guaranteed floor, fellas? Vicky, what gets the crowd going?
00:47 Whitney! Here we go!
00:48 I do, I do. I think 'I wanna dance with somebody' sort of sums up Day Fever, for me anyway.
00:54 There's loads of songs that always go down well.
00:58 Although we do make sure that we're thinking about the city, what it is that makes them get into it.
01:05 So yeah, there'll be a few added songs.
01:07 Bit of a Glasgow playlist in there.
01:08 Oh yeah, for sure.
01:09 People are dressed up, they're ready for a good time. Is it nice to see people take this quite seriously and get into it?
01:16 Yeah, I mean it's a nice opportunity for people to get dressed up because sometimes it's only at weddings or events
01:24 whereas this is like, wear whatever you want. Some people dress up to the nines, some people want to tuck their trainers on and be comfortable, like me.
01:31 But you know, add a bit of spark.
01:33 Do you know what the thing that I really like about this is, essentially there's no gimmicks, it's the music and the people.
01:39 And the whole idea is if you can get lots of like-minded people in the same room, things happen, you know, it's a buzz.
01:46 Absolutely, I mean we've always said that the star of this is the event itself and the music.
01:50 We're not going to bring in nin DJs or any of that kind of stuff. The idea is you call on and you send in the greatest songs of the 20th century and the songs you can use.
01:58 You know, we've got My Girl on at the moment.
