00:00 As far as ISRO is concerned, we have a very clear laid out program in space exploration,
00:07 space utilization in the coming days.
00:09 Currently, we have 54 spacecrafts in orbit plus there are non-functional objects.
00:16 But we have been taking very careful action on wherever it is possible to dispose off
00:22 or remove the space objects from its active role once it is over to de-orbit and bring
00:28 it to a safe location has been one of the important topics that we have been taking
00:31 action all throughout.
00:33 I think recently some of the announcements of de-orbiting of the objects have possibly
00:38 would have come to note of.
00:40 And this will continue.
00:41 I think we want to make sure that for all the spacecraft that we are likely to launch
00:45 in the future, we will be taking actions to make sure that we de-orbit and also bring
00:50 it to safe location.
00:51 And we also make sure that within the systems what we launch including the upper stages
00:55 of the rocket or the spacecrafts we create mechanism by which that we will be removing
01:00 all energetic possibilities within that by careful design as well as implementation of
01:06 principles so that it will not really cause any additional debris creation.
01:12 We also need to develop skills especially when you are looking at future exploration
01:18 possibly not within the Earth's orbit but also far beyond Earth's orbit especially
01:23 the Earth-Moon systems as well as in solar planetary exploration.
01:29 I think all those areas are also becoming crowded especially domains like Moon is also
01:33 becoming crowded.
01:34 I think we will be taking I believe that this group will be looking at that aspect as well
01:39 in greater detail in coming days.
01:42 I would like to only tell on this inaugural session the opening plenary program just to
01:47 invite all of you to Bangalore and also to wish you a very, very fruitful engagement
01:52 with all the stakeholders, experts.
01:55 I am very happy that 10 of the participants countries could join us and other three of
02:01 them are able to join online.
02:03 I welcome you once again to Bangalore and wish very, very fruitful discussion engagement
02:10 and I also want to make sure that ISRO will be very actively participating in the coming
02:15 days and we will be happy to put forward our leadership from ISRO to be part of leads of
02:22 some of the working groups in the coming days so that we will be able to continue the support
02:26 to the IADC in the coming days as well.
02:31 We also need to develop skills especially when you are looking at future exploration
02:36 possibly not within the Earth's orbit but also far beyond Earth's orbit especially
02:42 the Earth-Moon systems as well as in solar planetary exploration.
02:47 I think all those areas are also becoming crowded especially domains like Moon is also
02:51 becoming crowded.
02:52 I think we will be taking I believe that this group will be looking at that aspect as well
02:58 in greater detail in coming days.
03:00 I would like to only tell on this inaugural session the opening plenary program just to
03:05 invite all of you to Bangalore and also to wish you a very, very fruitful engagement
03:10 with all the stakeholders, experts.
03:13 I am very happy that 10 of the participants countries could join us and other three of
03:19 them are able to join online.
03:21 I welcome you once again to Bangalore and wish very, very fruitful discussion engagement
03:28 and I also want to make sure that ISRO will be very actively participating in the coming
03:34 days and we will be happy to put forward our leadership from ISRO to be part of leads of
03:41 some of the working groups in the coming days so that we will be able to continue the support
03:44 to the IADC in the coming days as well.
03:49 Let me also say that our long term space program definitely look at the debris and its mitigation
03:57 measures as one of the important topic especially with a goal of building a space station in
04:02 the coming days.
04:03 We look at the orbit where there are more space stations coming up in those ranges of
04:09 orbits like 400 and plus or minus 50 kilometers.
04:13 I think this area has to be protected for human access and sustain human presence in
04:17 space as one of the important domain that we need to address in the coming days.
04:21 We also would like to look at the agreement on all the space stations and all space actors
04:29 including private space actors to comply with the guidelines of how to make sure the space
04:34 is sustainable and make sure that we do not propagate the activities so as to create more
04:39 debris for human beings to continue the exploration of space.
