00:00 This June, Newcastle Racecourse is set to host the Northumberland Plate Festival. This

00:06 will see a three-day weekend of races and musical acts. Performers which have been confirmed

00:11 include legendary band Madness, who are known for hits like Baggy Trousers and House of

00:16 Fun, and Hacienda Classical, which will feature DJ Graham Park. The festival will be held

00:21 from Thursday June 27th until Sunday June 29th. As part of the festival, Northumberland

00:27 Plate Day will trace the roots of Newcastle's racing heritage. Plate Day was first established

00:33 in 1833. Regarded as one of Newcastle's biggest racing festivals, attendees have been

00:39 told they can expect a collective of artists and musicians for a non-stop set of club classics,

00:46 including revamped hits which are performed live with Manchester Camerata Orchestra. Attendees

00:52 have also been told they can expect plenty of access to food and drink.
