00:04 who you may recognize from a TV show

00:06 did with Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man himself.

00:09 Chris, tell us about everything that's going on here

00:13 and what you do and how you know Robert.

00:16 - Well, I have a lot of fun, first of all.

00:18 What we're doing here at the LA Auto Show today

00:20 is we have six cars that we modified for Robert Downey Jr.

00:24 for a TV show called Downey's Dream Cars.

00:27 Was great working with Robert.

00:29 I've known him a long time, probably 20 years.

00:32 What's unique about these cars,

00:33 they were all modified in eco-friendly way.

00:36 So some have electric motors,

00:38 some have modern internal combustion engines,

00:40 and his mom's Mercedes, very personal car to Robert,

00:44 is converted to biodiesel.

00:46 The great thing about these cars

00:47 is they're all being given away in sweepstakes

01:13 and he believes very, very strongly in that,

01:15 and that's why we modified the cars in an eco-friendly way.

01:19 - And some really creative ways as well.

01:21 So the Corvette, I understand,

01:22 has got an interior made of mushrooms.

01:24 - Yeah, so the interior is made from mushroom leather,

01:26 which is pretty remarkable.

01:28 I mean, it just feels like regular leather.

01:31 The El Camino has a vegan leather interior.

01:34 The carpet in the El Camino and the Mercedes

01:38 is made from recycled plastic bottles.

01:40 This VW bus right here, which is also electric-powered,

01:44 has a roll-out electric grill,

01:47 powered by a solar panel, which is on the roof of the bus.

01:50 The El Camino has electric bikes

01:52 that are powered from a solar panel.

01:55 So pretty cool stuff.

01:56 - Yeah, really cool.

01:57 And it's not just a case of,

01:58 let's rip out the engine and chuck some batteries in.

02:01 - No.

02:02 - It's the fact that we've got one running on biodiesel.

02:05 We've got a mushroom interior.

02:07 Yeah, very creative, very cool.

02:09 - And the other unique thing is that Robert had a hand

02:12 in the design of every aspect of these vehicles.

02:15 Not only his personal cars, but he designed them all.

02:20 - Yeah.
