00:13 First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos slams Vice President Sara Duterte in her latest interview.
00:18 More than 1,500 Chinese are granted student visas in Cagayan, Philippines in 2023.
00:24 And pop star Taylor Swift releases her 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department."
00:31 First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos slams Vice President Sara Duterte
00:35 In her conversation with radio personality Antonita Berna, the First Lady says Duterte
00:40 quote, "crossed the line."
00:42 The rift began after Sara attended a protest in Davao against charter change in January,
00:47 where former President Rodrigo Duterte accused President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of drug use.
00:53 The First Lady says she saw the Vice President laugh at her father's jab in one of the video
00:57 feeds, and that did not sit well with her.
01:00 She says, "You are getting salary from the government, you are supposed to be the alter
01:04 ego.
01:05 That's not right.
01:06 That's entitled politics.
01:07 You're in the government, you're the vice president, I have a bone to pick with her."
01:11 The tensions between the First Lady and the Second-in-Command are not exactly surprising.
01:16 They also ignored or declined requests for comment on the status of their relationship
01:20 since January.
01:24 More than 1,500 Chinese are granted student visas in Cagayan, a province in northern Philippines,
01:29 in 2023.
01:31 Immigration Commissioner Norman Tancinko says the Chinese were endorsed by a Philippine
01:35 university.
01:36 But they also received reports only 400 Chinese are on site because the school is said to
01:41 be implementing distance learning.
01:43 Tancinko says the rise in the number of foreign students may be attributed to post-pandemic
01:48 rebound and to the "aggressive marketing of schools and government agencies to boost the
01:53 country's educational tourism."
01:55 Earlier, senators urged the Commission on Higher Education to investigate the "degree
02:00 for sale" scheme in Cagayan.
02:02 Chinese students allegedly paid up to P2 million in exchange for a degree.
02:06 But heads of schools in the region say the insinuations are not only baseless but also
02:11 deeply offensive and are a blatant display of racism and xenophobia.
02:17 Pop star Taylor Swift releases her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, and
02:22 reveals it is a secret double album.
02:25 The first installment of the album contains 16 tracks, while the second installment, titled
02:29 "TTPD The Anthology," has 15 extra songs.
02:33 The album also features artists Post Malone and Florence and the Machine in the tracks
02:38 "Fortnite" and "Florida," respectively, in the album's first installment.
02:42 Taylor says the album is an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions, and sentiments
02:47 from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time, one that was both sensational and sorrowful
02:52 in equal measure.
02:53 The release of The Tortured Poets Department comes just six months after Taylor dropped
02:58 1989 Taylor's version, which included five songs from The Vault.
