00:00 Well, it's been a very stormy week across much of the country with severe weather spawning heavy rain hail flooding and tornadoes
00:07 But things look to quiet down a little as we begin next week in Bernie Rayno and AccuWeather long-range expert Joe Lundberg
00:14 Show us what to expect
00:16 Well, it's time for next week what a week we've had with severe weather Joe
00:22 But for most of next week most not all severe weather looks limited it does
00:27 It's one of the three things that we're pointing out as the highlights for next week
00:30 The concern is going to be front and center a frost and freeze threat
00:33 Probably Wednesday night is the greatest risk across the Great Lakes and northeast into the mid-atlantic
00:38 Warmth however will be spreading from the southwest into the Plain States through the course of the next week and for most of next week
00:44 The severe weather threat is limited. That's probably gonna change by the time we get to Friday
00:48 And here's the overall pattern for next week again. You see this dip in the jet stream
00:51 That's going to allow that chilly air mass to come down from the Great Lakes and northeast behind a cold front
00:56 Tuesday night and Wednesday warm builds in behind it over the eastern Rockies and Plain States
01:00 Keep an eye on that dip in the jet stream Bernie because that is going to come through and as it does it's going to
01:05 Cause some problems but out ahead of it high pressure builds in Wednesday and Wednesday night and where it's clear and calm in these areas
01:11 You're probably gonna see temperatures get down to frosty levels and maybe even well enough below freezing to cause some damage to vegetation
01:17 That dip in the jet stream in the California
01:20 There's going to be a price to be paid with that Joe
01:22 There is the concern is what it does is it comes down to the southern Rockies and we've seen this already played out a couple
01:27 Of times this spring it pulls moisture up from the Gulf of Mexico and in so doing
01:31 The air loft is just too cool. It gets unstable
01:34 It overturns and guess what you think severe weather will erupt in here on Friday, and it may not be one round
01:39 It may be multiple rounds of severe weather all the way through the weekend and all forms of severe weather in play
01:44 including flash flooding
01:46 And it looks as though that pattern Joe is going to be repeating itself as we head toward
01:50 Late April and right in the mid May it's a dangerous pattern
01:54 Yeah
01:54 You look at where the jet stream sets up and you have
01:56 Ridging off the into the eastern portion of the US which means some warmer weather
02:00 But that dip in the Rockies disturbances come in through the northwest pulls that moisture from the Gulf of Mexico and guess what?
02:06 Multiple rounds of severe weather we see it begin next weekend and could last all the way through the middle of May
