NFL Draft Preview: Top QBs Start the Picks for New England Patriots

00:00The NFL draft is upon us, and man, the NFL has turned this into a dramatic soap operatic
00:08event, has it not?
00:10I'm Mike Fisher on the NFL.
00:13We know that Caleb Williams to the Bears, the number one overall pick.
00:17That seems locked in.
00:18The somewhat controversial USC quarterback.
00:22And then a bundle of quarterbacks to go boom, boom and maybe even boom after that with Daniels,
00:28the LSU quarterback, very athletic.
00:30Maybe to Washington at two.
00:32And then May, maybe to New England at three, taking over for Mack Jones as they start over
00:38again at quarterback in New England.
00:41J.J. McCarthy might be in the mix here too.
00:43Might be an NFC East quarterback.
00:46Looking forward, Atlanta drafting at number eight again.
00:50And maybe this time it's defense.
00:52Dallas Turner, Mitchell on defense, Verse on defense.
00:57That seems like a likelihood for Atlanta at number eight.
01:00The Jets pick at number 10, and even though they grabbed themselves former Dallas Cowboys
01:04and future Hall of Famer tackle Tyron Smith, they might still, because this is an Aaron
01:09Rodgers era and this era needs to, in order to accomplish anything, have Aaron Rodgers
01:15survive.
01:16Offensive line for Jets at number 10 is a possibility.
01:20Rumors of the Eagles moving up.
01:23Rumors of the Dallas Cowboys moving down.
01:25And what's going on with the Cowboys here is the idea that at pick number 24 there might
01:30be this bundle, again that word, of players that they view as worthy of 24.
01:35So if the draft gets to 24 and the Cowboys still have this group of four or six or more
01:42guys and a couple of them are still there, maybe the Cowboys trade down.
01:46Why would they do that?
01:48And why is it notable for the Cowboys more than others?
01:50Because this is a 12-5 team, a playoff team, perennial playoff team, that has won 36 regular
01:56season games in the last three years, second only to the Chiefs.
02:00And yet because of what they have done, well, haven't done in free agency, they have all
02:05sorts of holes.
02:06And so a tradeback gives them an extra pick and boy, could they use it.
02:11Does Seattle need an offensive lineman late in the draft, in the first round?
02:16The Rams have themselves a rare first round pick.
02:19It's been a long time since the Rams had a first round pick.
02:22F them picks!
02:23Except not this year.
02:25They've got themselves a quality and a quality opportunity in the first round.
02:30The Bills picking late, the rumors of course would have them trying to replace the controversial
02:35and traded Stephon Diggs.
02:38But they would be wise to not pick a player, or I'm sorry, to not pick a position.
02:43They'd be wise to pick a player, even though obviously they are starved at the wide receiver
02:47position.
02:49And maybe the Ravens go offensive line late.
02:51A lot of moving and shaking to be done in advance of and then on draft night itself.
