00:00 I suggest that he surrenders the land to the government agencies
00:07 who are more qualified to prepare the project.
00:10 DT Wangsa MP Johari Gani has urged the developer behind the proposed redevelopment of Kampung Sungai Baru,
00:19 which has been on hold for six years, to hand the land over to the government
00:24 if it is unable to continue with the project.
00:27 Johari said the project has seen no development even though 95% of the residents have been relocated.
00:34 The Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister said he had discussed the matter with the developer several times
00:41 but the company had given him various excuses.
00:44 Johari said the project has to resume immediately for the sake of the residents who willingly sacrificed their houses for it.
00:54 The community has been relocated. The buildings are empty.
00:58 It's like a center for people to come and do their business.
01:03 If we look at the rats, there are a lot of rats inside because the buildings are left unattended.
01:09 So I urge the Ministry of Regional Affairs and the BKL
01:14 and I urge the developer to surrender if he cannot do it.
