00:00 So my question is whenever we take decision in life, we tend to take the easier path despite
00:09 it not being beneficial to us.
00:11 We like to stay in our comfort zone.
00:14 So how do we come out of this?
00:15 How do we push ourselves to take the difficult route?
00:20 You do that because you have been convinced that you do not deserve anything beyond a
00:27 point, right?
00:32 The high things in life, be it within or without, they all require a price to be paid.
00:46 They all require that you toil and face difficulties and suffer blows.
00:56 But why will you suffer blows if you have been convinced by the environment around you
01:03 that you anyway do not deserve to reach the top?
01:09 So you will say, the top is anyway inaccessible to me.
01:14 I need to reach some place in between.
01:17 So I will take the shortest kind of route possible and the most economical medium possible.
01:25 When you know who you really are and when you know that your potential is unlimited,
01:36 then there is self-love.
01:39 Then you do not want to deprive yourself of what you deserve.
01:43 And then you say, I will pay whatever price it takes.
01:49 I will not settle for something mediocre.
01:55 But mostly our misfortune, if I may put it that way, is that the mediocre society turns
02:12 its own kid into mediocre products.
02:17 The kid is heavily dependent on the society for information, for upbringing, for culture,
02:24 for conditioning.
02:26 All of that comes from the society.
02:29 And the society is in itself never something of excellence.
02:36 Therefore it does not cultivate values of excellence within its kids.
02:45 And the kid is made to believe that a normal kind of, as they say, run-of-mill life, that's
02:53 all that there is.
02:55 In fact if you try to think big, then you are shown down.
03:06 You are told to stay within your limits.
03:09 No?
03:10 The result is then a drop in self-love.
03:18 Because there is something within all of us.
03:21 Remember this very clearly.
03:24 That can fall in love only with absolute excellence.
03:30 With anything short of the absolute, you will find yourself short of love.
03:36 That absolute is also what has been sometimes called as the truth or liberation or even
03:46 God.
03:48 That's the reason why religions have existed since ancient times.
03:56 Because something in us just very madly loves the absolute.
04:01 It cannot live without the absolute.
04:05 In more personal terms, that absolute is your own personal possibility.
04:14 Most of us do not love ourselves.
04:17 In fact, if you look at the way we behave and take decisions, you will find that in
04:22 a hidden way we hate ourselves.
04:24 We are anti-life.
04:25 We do things, don't we, that harm us.
04:30 Somebody keeps on smoking.
04:32 He knows smoking is bad, still he keeps on smoking.
04:36 Somebody knows he must work hard and study or something, he does not do that.
04:40 What is it?
04:41 What is it?
04:43 Somebody continues to beer in an abusive relationship and never drops out.
04:51 Why do we do that?
04:54 We keep on eating all kinds of unhealthy stuff.
04:57 Why do we do that?
05:00 Why are all these things indicators of self-love?
05:03 No, they are indicators of self-hate.
05:08 Why do we hate ourselves?
05:10 Because we have refused our highest possibility to ourselves.
05:16 Whenever you will do that, you will hate yourself your entire life.
05:23 Whenever you will refuse the highest to yourself, you will become guilty in your own eyes and
05:33 you will not be able to forgive yourself for that.
05:37 And how can you love someone who can't even be pardoned?
05:42 How can you love someone who is guilty of a very bad crime?
05:48 So we don't love ourselves.
05:49 We don't love ourselves.
05:53 If you don't love yourself, why will you want to give yourself the best?
06:01 Are we together on this?
06:03 If you don't love yourself, why will you want to give yourself the best?
06:06 You will settle for anything normal, usual, mediocre.
06:13 You will say, but you know, this is the way the world is.
06:16 I am an average bloke like everybody else.
06:21 You can find some kind of false peace in calling yourself an average person.
06:31 But that will be an inner death.
06:37 Inwardly you know what is it we all live for?
06:40 We live for excellence.
06:42 We live for the absolute.
06:45 That's what the human birth is for, to attain the absolute.
06:53 Instead if you have convinced yourself to stay mediocre within, then it's death.
07:00 Because life is for the highest.
07:04 Anything lower than highest, life is the same as death.
07:09 Are you getting it?
07:15 So choose your company with great discretion.
07:20 Do not be around people who show you down.
07:24 Be very clear, be with people who ruthlessly prod you on towards betterment.
07:34 Who mercilessly bring out your shortcomings.
07:39 And who never allow you to believe for a second that you are destined to live a mediocre life.
07:47 They'll say because you must be excellent, therefore all your mistakes must be exposed.
07:58 That's the kind of people and books and environment you should choose.
08:06 Inwardly whenever you find thoughts of weaknesses dominating you, push away those thoughts.
08:14 Do not allow anybody to dominate you, including your own thoughts.
08:20 If even your own judgement is that you are a weakling, reject that judgement.
08:30 You might be beaten and when you are beaten, accept that with honesty and courage.
08:38 But if somebody tells you that it is your destiny to remain beaten and fallen, push
08:43 that person away.
08:44 Yes, I have fallen and I won't hide the fact that I have fallen.
08:50 I am courageous enough to boldly admit that I have fallen and it's such a bad display
08:56 on my part.
08:57 Surely I am cultivating some nonsense within, the reflection of which is this fall.
09:04 But if you are telling me that I must limit my life itself, that I must give up on the
09:18 potential and the possibilities that life has to offer, then sorry, sorry, sorry.
09:26 If I have to live in mediocrity, then I'll better not live.
09:32 If I have to live in bondages, then life is not worth it.
09:39 Getting it?
09:40 See, it must be confusing because I am saying both the things.
09:43 On one hand I say, you have to be very honest about your mistakes.
09:50 You must know that your mistakes reveal the fact of yourself.
09:56 So they can't even be called as mistakes.
09:58 On one hand, I am saying that you must really know how ugly your face has become and how
10:06 weak your inner self has become.
10:08 On one hand I am saying that.
10:10 That our fact is weakness.
10:13 On the other hand, I am saying our potential is greatness.
10:18 Both these have to be remembered at the same time.
10:21 If you remember only one of these, then there will be a problem.
10:24 Remember both of these.
10:25 Yes, I am down and out at this moment and I'll honestly admit that.
10:31 But equally I'll always remember that each human being is born for greatness.
10:38 Greatness is my destiny.
10:40 Never compromise on that greatness, never compromise on the destiny you are born for.
10:49 Remember this always.
10:54 Does that make sense?
