00:00The spirit of invention celebrates creativity in Victorian Britain right up to the current
00:12day. This exhibition is the first time that the National Archives has toured an exhibition
00:18outside of London, so we're the first host venue at Discovery Museum. The exhibition
00:24is really fun, it's colourful, it's playful, it's all about invention, so there's some
00:29really quirky things to be found in here. Audiences can expect a fun hands-on experience.
00:38The exhibition has been designed for families, particularly families with children under
00:4411. There's lots of ways to get involved, interactives, games, loads of things to do.
00:53I've been looking around the area and playing, making Lego and doing some origami boats.
01:02I have been making my own inventions for the environment and making a top hat.
01:13The exhibition really captures the spirit of invention, there's loads of examples of
01:18Victorian designs around the gallery and then there's a lot of contemporary designs
01:24as well. So we've got things like clean air necklace which lights up when you're in a
01:30place that has a really good air quality. We've got fold-away kayaks, we've got robot
01:36jellyfish that can survey coral reefs. It's packed with invention.
01:46I would say it's very fun and you can do a lot of stuff. I would really recommend that
01:52people come over here and enjoy the time here. It's really good. Fun, fun, fun.
