00:00Sixth place finish for Anthony Alfredo here at Talladega.
00:03Relatively calm race, but there at the end you really made a push.
00:06What did you feel inside the race car on those final closing laps?
00:08Oh, it was intense.
00:10The whole race I just had a blast.
00:11This dude wiped Chevrolet Camaro as fast as the speed of the internet, and we had an awesome
00:14day yesterday where they were doing a Chevy finish in third.
00:17Really wanted to build on that, be a couple spots better.
00:19Obviously, it's even tougher in the cup series, but Beard Motorsports brought an awesome car.
00:23They work really hard to just come do a couple races a year, but when they do it, they know
00:27they have a shot to win.
00:29I take a lot of pride in being the guy behind the wheel.
00:31I hope I can do a lot more with them.
00:33At the end there, I couldn't really do anything.
00:35I drove up to the front early in the race, got to lead laps, and that was awesome.
00:39Just the way it cycled out there, there was really nowhere for me to go.
00:42I was kind of boxing on the bottom, so I just decided I was going to push as hard as I could
00:46and see what happens.
00:47Sure enough, in typical Talladega fashion, it got crazy coming to the line, and I was
00:51able to just pull it hard left, fly through the grass, and stay skid mark free thanks
00:56to dude wipes.
00:58Looking forward to hopefully doing many more races with this crew.
01:00These super speedways, today we saw 196, 197 miles per hour.
01:04In the closing laps, when it is intensity ramping up, what's the heart rate like?
01:08What's the mindset between the helmet?
01:10Oh yeah, it's quite interesting.
01:11I'm going to check on my Pison technology device how different the adrenaline affects
01:16my reaction time, pre-motor time, because you get amped up inside the car for sure,
01:20just from the drop of the green.
01:22With all the fuel saving we do, it definitely calms down a lot.
01:26If anything, the anxious part of that is wondering if you saved enough fuel or not.
01:30When I drove up to the front there, I obviously used a lot to do that, so that kind of changes
01:35our strategy a little bit when we have to pit, how much fuel we have to take.
01:38But at the end, the intensity ramped up on the cup cars with the digital display, you
01:43could see your lap time, and we were running like three seconds faster or more than we
01:47were early in the race, just because everyone was pushing more, and we were good to the
01:50end.
01:51Thanks Anthony.
01:52Thank you guys.
