00:00It's been great getting to, I guess I'll say, study under Coach Slade has been
00:04awesome. He's just got so much knowledge and having Coach Rudd there as
00:08well, he's kind of the mastermind behind everything, being able to work
00:11directly with him. It's been a pretty easy transition. What are some of
00:15those tips, some of those intricacies Coach Slade is teaching you about and
00:18then you're learning from him? He's just got, you know, he's got nine
00:22years of NFL experience behind him. Just small things, getting vertical when
00:26you're doing inside moves and things of that nature, but it's just
00:31little, every little thing he's got, he's got something to help himself with. Which
00:35spots on the D-line are you playing? Are they teaching you to do both of those? Yeah, it's on the stand-up end.
00:40What are the biggest differences between the two, in your opinion? At this
00:45point, I've done both for so long that it's not that, it's like riding a bike.
00:50Just get on and do it.
00:54How has your adjustment been to UVA? You've been here a couple months now, you came in January. How has it been, your adjustment to the school?
01:00I love it. All the coaches here, you know, a lot of people throw around the
01:06term family, but like, you know, they really invite you in and actually treat
01:09you like family here. And as for the school, I love it. I don't have a single
01:14complaint about this place. It's awesome. Did you lean on anyone when you first got here? Chico.
01:19Chico, yeah. You know, he helped me really get everything down and get
01:24acclimated as well. Really everything, from finding classes to the playbook and all that.
01:29He was a transfer himself. Did he give you any tidbits of coming in like this in mid-year?
01:34Not really as, you know, just coming in as a mid-year and transferring. Really just
01:41more so, just being here and like introducing me to the team and not sort
01:47of being the new guy, the outcast, I guess. In that sense, yeah, it was big with, I
01:52guess, getting introduced to the team. Your family is now close by. Are you excited to see them on Saturdays finally?
01:57Absolutely. You know, they would maybe get to come up to two games last season or, I
02:02guess, in the past seasons that I've played. They'll be here every single
02:06weekend now, so pretty excited for that. What's been your overall impression about the potential for this year's team coming in and learning the
02:15roster, learning the guys? What's your expectations going in for this team this year?
02:22Expectations? I think, you know, the athletic ability here, the athletic
02:28ceiling is really high. I think it's just everybody getting in and working with
02:32the coaches and really getting the playbook down and getting the
02:36fundamentals down. I don't think that there's any limitation athletically here,
02:39so I think that we're gonna be as good as what we want to be.
02:44Is that kind of neat when you know, you kind of look at the schedule that, you know, week after week, you should be in most games, pretty much all of them, right?
02:52Yeah. Is that good to know going in? Well, I think, you know, you got to take it one week at a time.
02:58You can't really just look at it as a whole, you know, in general. But, you know,
03:06knowing that we'll be able to, you know, compete at a really high level, just
03:11seeing practice in, practice out. Everybody's working to that, you know, the
03:17standard that Coach Elliott has set.
