00:10 >> Chris McCollum, Irish Sports Daily out here at the New England Six Select Camp
00:14 with 2024 quarterback Dante Reno.
00:16 Dante, you look pretty good out here today, first of all.
00:20 What was this whole event like for you?
00:22 >> It was good, it was good to compete.
00:23 I mean, we had a bunch of kids, 25, 24, top of the line kids.
00:26 So it was good to compete with all of them.
00:28 So it was really a good New England showdown case.
00:30 So we got all the best kids from New England.
00:32 >> Okay. >> And we all just competed a little bit.
00:33 >> And what have you been working on this off season?
00:35 >> Shorten up my release a little bit, and keep my front shoulder closed to my feet.
00:39 Those have been the three biggest keys.
00:40 >> Okay, and as far as recruiting goes, I mean,
00:42 you still got a long way to go in terms of being a 24 prospect.
00:45 But you already got several offers already.
00:48 What's it like having that many offers from so many schools in such an early period?
00:52 >> Yeah, it's been cool.
00:52 It's definitely a lot to handle with school and recruiting and football and
00:56 all that stuff, but sometimes you have to push it to the side and
00:59 just worry about football.
01:00 >> Okay, do you have any idea what you're looking for in a school,
01:03 like in a college program?
01:05 >> Big time football, power five, good education, somewhere I can develop both.
01:09 >> Okay, and have you heard anything at all from Notre Dame yet?
01:11 >> Yeah, I've talked to Dean Pesce, the recruiting coordinator.
01:14 He wants to get me out in the winter.
01:16 >> Okay. >> Come on a visit and
01:17 then go to camp one day.
01:18 >> Is that something you think you'll do, get out there?
01:20 >> Yeah. >> Okay,
01:20 what would you like to see when you get out there, or
01:22 what do you know about Notre Dame already?
01:24 >> Yeah, I know a lot about Notre Dame, the high league academic school.
01:27 They won the college football playoff last year, so
01:28 there's really nothing you can't have up there at that school.
01:30 >> Okay, and obviously your dad is a coach at Yale.
01:33 What's it like growing up the son of a coach?
01:35 How has that helped you as a football player, and how do you think, or
01:38 how has it helped you so far in the recruiting process?
01:40 >> Yeah, for sure, I mean, he's helped me through the whole time.
01:42 Since I was a little kid, I used to hear all his recruiting calls, all his players.
01:45 So I kinda know the answers, some of the answers, and what to ask the coaches,
01:49 what they look for in a program, and how they interact with the players,
01:51 the three biggest keys.
01:53 Okay Dante we really appreciate it man good luck with the rest of the process.
