00:00I don't know that we've seen a ton of athletes in our lifetimes that have had such a transformational
00:07effect on their sports. I mean, I really do believe that you have to look back to Namath
00:12with the NFL, to Bird and Magic with the NBA. You just don't see athletes like her with that charisma
00:20and that appeal and that game-changing influence. You just don't see very many of them. I think
00:27probably the Mia Hamm group with the women's 1999 World Cup champions had kind of a similar effect,
00:36but she's had just an amazing impact on the WNBA and on the Fever, and of course,
00:44obviously, in retrospect, on Division I women's college basketball. And I know there are a lot
00:51of skeptics about the influence that someone like that can have, what happens after they're gone.
00:58Well, what happens is that not everybody sticks around. There probably won't be 18 million people
01:05that watch next year's Women's National Championship game, but I'll tell you what,
01:10it's going to be more than 5 million. I guarantee that. I'll tell you right now, it's going to be
01:14more than 5, which is what it was before Caitlyn came along and took it to 10 and then ultimately
01:1918. It's going to be more than 5. That's what happens. People watch a Caitlyn, and okay, so she
01:28moves along to the WNBA, and people think, this was really cool. I want to watch this again. So next
01:35year, there will be a significant audience, more significant than what it was before she found
01:40college basketball.
