00:05 Hello, we're back with another edition of 5 Things to Do, and as we wait for the sun to make an appearance this year, here's some things to distract you.
00:13 Something to get you dancing first, because on May 1st at Boulton-le-Sands Library near Carnford, you can see Graffiti Classics.
00:20 16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices with one aim - to make classical music wickedly funny and fantastically exhilarating for audiences everywhere.
00:29 Graffiti Classics bursts the elitist boundaries of the traditional string quartet with its hilarious all-singing, all-dancing musical comedy show.
00:37 Tickets are very reasonable for £10.
00:41 Live music at the Burnley Mechanics next, because May 2nd sees the arrival of Steel Eye Span.
00:47 Pioneers of folk rock, Steel Eye Span changed the face of the genre forever, taking out small clubs into the world of gold discs and international tours.
00:56 A band who haven't been content to rest on their laurels, even as they have celebrated their 50th anniversary, enjoying one of the most creative periods of their history over the past two decades.
01:06 As ever, and with such rich history to choose from, tonight will offer a selection of songs from across the years and albums, coupled with firm fan favourites.
01:14 Tickets for that one, £30.
01:17 More live music next, as we welcome the return of the Ribble Valley Jazz and Blues Festival.
01:22 It showcases the very best of jazz and blues and brings together performers from across the world.
01:27 Each year over 500 performers from many genres performing around Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley for four days of spectacular music.
01:34 It's on in multiple venues in the town throughout May Day Bank Holiday on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.
01:40 And there are a mixture of free and ticketed events, so head to www.rbjazzfestival.co.uk for all the details.
01:50 And sticking with the Bank Holiday weekend, Preston are making a proper weekend of it in the Flag Market in the middle of the city.
01:57 The Preston Bank Holiday weekend returns and promises a party to remember on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May.
02:04 On Saturday night, the Flag Market will host the Ministry of Sound Takeover Show.
02:08 For over 25 years, Ministry of Sound has been an icon for nightlife lovers everywhere, resulting in a music and event experience of the highest calibre.
02:16 Then Sunday on the Square will be headlined by From the Jam alongside Buzzcocks and Space, plus a host of brilliant regional bands for an afternoon and evening of awesome live music.
02:26 Final release tickets are still available for £19.50 for the Saturday and £16.50 for the Sunday.
02:33 Finally, it's not all indulgence because Chorley are preparing to welcome runners back to the streets of their town and Astley Park for the 2023 Chorley 10k and 2k Family Run when it returns on Saturday 5th May.
02:46 Even if you're not running, you can still come down and cheer on the competitors and enjoy the run village on Fersakley Street.
02:52 Standard entry for the 10k is £25 and the 2k Family Run will cost you £6.50.
