00:00 "That was really not good, I'm sorry."
00:02 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 20 dumbest family feud fails.
00:09 "Name a number that most men exaggerate."
00:12 [Phone rings]
00:14 "A hundred."
00:15 For this list, we're looking at the worst answers given on any iteration of this popular survey-themed game show.
00:21 Which of these responses made you laugh the most? Let us know in the comments.
00:25 [Typing]
00:26 Number 20, Yogi.
00:28 The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is one of the most enduring fairy tales ever crafted.
00:34 So when this contestant was asked to name one of the three bears during the Fast Money round,
00:38 it should have been easy.
00:40 [Humming]
00:43 However, he seemed to forget all about the common fairy tale and quickly responded, "Yogi."
00:48 "One of the three bears."
00:50 "Yogi."
00:51 "It bites."
00:53 The round was soon interrupted by everyone from the contestant with a pilot background
00:57 to the studio audience all guffawing.
00:59 Host Richard Dawson even got in a wisecrack about how the competitor was quote,
01:03 "Flying airplanes for us."
01:05 While this contestant may be good at flying actual planes,
01:08 his answer definitely crashed and burned.
01:11 "Okie dokie, Yogi."
01:13 [Gunshot]
01:14 "Try the most!"
01:16 [Explosion]
01:18 Number 19, Mutual Friends.
01:20 Sometimes family feud answers are more than just wrong, they're completely illogical.
01:26 When this contestant is asked to name something you make conversation about when you meet a stranger,
01:31 she responds with,
01:32 "How about maybe mutual friends? Someone you might..."
01:35 "I gotcha."
01:36 "I don't know."
01:38 We're not quite sure how that would work,
01:40 and admittedly, the contestant doesn't sound too confident in her answer either.
01:44 Host Richard Dawson can't help but playfully tease her about the response
01:48 and imagines an entire scenario in which two people meet by chance
01:52 and try to talk about a mutual acquaintance.
01:54 "I don't think I've ever seen you before. How's Harry?"
01:58 "Who's Harry?"
02:01 "My friend."
02:03 This unfortunate answer results in the family's third strike.
02:07 "Julie, I love you, but you're funny."
02:08 "Mutual friends?"
02:11 "No!"
02:12 While a stranger can be a friend you haven't met yet,
02:16 there was no way her response was going to be on the board.
02:19 Number 18, Because It's Raining.
02:22 The pressure of being on Family Feud has caused many a contestant to give an answer
02:26 that doesn't make a lick of sense.
02:28 At the start of a round, competitors are asked,
02:31 "The reason you might stay indoors on a beautiful day."
02:34 Unfortunately, one contestant was clearly more concerned with ringing in first
02:39 than comprehending the question.
02:41 After slamming his hand on the buzzer, he replies,
02:44 "Because it's raining."
02:45 Something tells us he heard the first part of the question but not the second.
02:49 Speed on Family Feud is not nearly as important as accuracy.
02:54 Number 17, Hanukkah.
03:01 There are so many traditions associated with Christmas.
03:05 You decorate the tree, you unwrap gifts, and also celebrate Hanukkah?
03:13 That's what a contestant named Debbie suggested during her time on the show.
03:17 "Name a tradition associated with Christmas. Debbie."
03:21 "Hanukkah."
03:22 When asked to name a Christmas tradition,
03:24 she seemed to forget that Hanukkah was a completely separate holiday
03:28 that has a long and rich history of its own.
03:30 Debbie and host Ray Combs start cracking up right after she makes this blunder.
03:35 Honestly, we wouldn't be surprised if a new holiday tradition at her house
03:38 is being reminded of this classic response.
03:41 "I say we call it a Christmas tree."
03:43 Number 16, Yourself.
03:46 Certain answers risk revealing more about who gave the response than intended.
03:50 When one contestant is asked to name something you wash once a week,
03:54 she buzzes in with, "Yourself."
03:56 Judging by the competitor's wincing reaction,
03:59 this was another ridiculous answer that doesn't reflect her actual bathing habits.
04:04 However, host Richard Dawson makes the best of the moment
04:07 and milks the misstep for all it's worth.
04:09 "I will not be coming around."
04:10 It makes for an absolutely hilarious mid-game exchange.
04:14 And as an added bonus, this answer definitely promotes water conservation.
04:19 "I haven't bathed in weeks."
04:21 "But we've only been out for a few hours."
04:23 "I know."
04:24 Number 15, Frog.
04:29 The fast money round is a treat for viewers
04:31 who enjoy seeing contestants give absurd answers under pressure.
04:35 After being asked to name an animal with three letters in its name, he responds, "Frog."
04:40 Although the contestant tries to shake off this bad answer,
04:44 he doesn't fully recover.
04:46 Later in the round, he's asked to name something that comes with a summer storm,
04:49 and he says, "Snow."
04:51 We hope this family didn't need those fast money earnings too badly.
04:55 Number 14, Chicken.
04:59 What's more embarrassing than giving an incorrect response?
05:03 Shouting out a wrong answer and acting like you nailed it.
05:06 On Family Feud Canada, a round's opening question was "Name Popeye's favorite food."
05:11 The contestant to ring in first replies, "Chicken!"
05:15 with utter confidence, complete with a victory dance.
05:20 This premature celebration leaves host Jerry D and the competitor's family stunned.
05:25 To add insult to injury, the other contestant easily replies with the correct answer,
05:30 "Spinach, Jerry."
05:31 While mixing up Popeye the Sailor with the chicken chain was bad at the moment,
05:36 the answer paid off.
05:37 [Music]
05:43 The restaurant offered her $10,000 worth of menu items.
05:47 Number 13, The Bottom Part.
05:50 Remember the days of landline phones?
05:52 We'd pick up the receiver, dial the buttons, and wrap the cord around our fingers.
05:56 These are just three examples of how this contestant could have answered this particular question.
06:07 Unfortunately, when a contestant was asked to name a phone part, she went with,
06:12 "The bottom part."
06:13 Although we can understand what she was going for,
06:16 a vague answer like that was never gonna fly for the show.
06:19 It also stings that her teammate had earned her family 58 points by answering receiver earlier.
06:26 Well, at least she didn't say the top part.
06:28 Number 12, Orange.
06:31 A number of Family Feud contestants would do great if the show ever did an opposite day episode.
06:36 One such contestant would have excelled in a Fast Money round,
06:39 where she was asked to name a yellow fruit.
06:42 The competitor responds with, "Orange."
06:45 It's hard to forgive her for going with a fruit that tells you exactly what color it is in its name.
06:50 You can immediately tell that she wishes she could go back and give another more accurate response.
06:56 Or, to speak in terms of an answer she should have given instead,
07:00 it looks like it drove her bananas.
07:05 Well, guess she couldn't make lemonade out of these lemons.
07:08 Okay, we'll stop.
07:09 "This has a lemonade business. It's clearly booming part."
07:12 Number 11, Excited.
07:14 Different words can have varied meanings depending on the context.
07:17 You can certainly feel an emotion like excitement,
07:20 but that's not the kind of feeling this question was referring to.
07:23 When asked to name something you feel before you buy it,
07:26 this contestant responds not with an item, but an emotion.
07:29 "Mike, excited."
07:32 We're guessing he let his own excitement get the best of him.
07:35 Host Richard Carne looked equal parts shocked and amused at this response.
07:39 Fortunately, the contestant was also entertained by this misunderstanding.
07:43 If you could actually buy excitement,
07:46 we assume this competitor would visit that store every day.
07:49 Number 10, Read.
07:55 What would Family Feud be without Steve Harvey and his classic reactions?
08:01 Sometimes, Harvey is so flabbergasted by a contestant's response
08:05 that it appears he's lost all faith in humanity.
08:07 When asked to name something that's hard to do with one's eyes open,
08:11 this contestant confidently says,
08:13 "Read."
08:13 Harvey reminds the audience that the contestant is in college,
08:17 and roasts him further.
08:18 "This boy in college. He enrolled in that now.
08:23 He leaned into the mic and said, 'Read, Steve.'
08:28 Okay.
08:32 Not sure I want to see you shut your eyes and do it."
08:35 It's even funnier when you realize that since it wasn't a fast money
08:39 or round starting question, he had more time to think about it.
08:43 We're not sure how exactly he reads, but it doesn't seem particularly efficient.
08:48 "I can't read."
08:49 Number 9, Papa.
08:51 There are many different types of bear out there.
08:54 Polar, grizzly, panda, but believe it or not,
08:58 Papa Bear is not an official type.
09:00 For this round, host Richard Dawson asks the contestants to name a type of bear.
09:05 Not one to let his opponent get an answer in,
09:07 this man quickly hits his button and answers, "Papa Bear."
09:10 And quite unenthusiastically, we may add.
09:13 "I'm a Papa Bear."
09:16 What makes this moment so funny isn't necessarily the answer itself,
09:20 but the man's reaction.
09:21 He knows he messed up, but the words are already out of his mouth.
09:25 We can only assume the 100 people surveyed were not fans of Goldilocks.
09:30 "I wonder where Goldilocks was.
09:31 Oh, oh, that bed was just right."
09:37 Number 8, Jose.
09:40 "Give me a boy's name that starts with the letter H."
09:44 You can see where the thought process was with this one, but come on.
09:47 "No way, Jose."
09:48 When Steve Harvey asks contestant Anthony to give him a boy's name
09:51 that starts with the letter H,
09:53 Anthony slams the table and confidently blurts out, "Jose."
09:57 "Jose."
09:58 His answer is obviously wrong,
09:59 but it's Anthony's confidence that makes it even funnier.
10:02 He's absolutely sure he nailed the question,
10:05 despite the bewildered looks of both Steve Harvey and even his own family.
10:10 As it turns out, the survey, unlike Anthony,
10:13 knows that Jose doesn't start with an H.
10:15 You know what does?
10:16 Harvey.
10:17 Number 7, Pork Eupine.
10:20 "Name a word or phrase that begins with Pork."
10:22 "He say, 'I got this, Steve. I got this all day.'"
10:25 This answer has become Family Feud legend,
10:28 and is one of Steve Harvey's personal favorites.
10:31 When Harvey asks the contestants to name something that follows the word Pork,
10:35 things do not pan out the way he expects.
10:38 Not only does the first contestant fail to pronounce or spell Porkloin correctly,
10:43 but the man succeeding her then drops an absolute bombshell of an answer,
10:48 Eupine.
10:50 "Name something that follows the word Pork."
10:53 "Eupine."
10:53 As in Pork Eupine.
10:55 Not only is the answer gut-bustingly stupid,
10:58 but Steve Harvey's completely befuddled response and resulting tangent are now legendary.
11:03 "What is Cupine?"
11:05 You know it's bad when your family laughs and Steve Harvey doesn't even say good answer.
11:11 "Pork Cupine is not a damn word."
11:16 Number 6, Alligator.
11:18 "Name an animal with three letters in its name."
11:21 This is one heck of a family.
11:22 As we saw earlier, when asked to name an animal with three letters in its name,
11:27 the first contestant to go answers Frog to everyone's amusement,
11:32 and it only gets worse from there.
11:33 His partner answers Alligator to uproarious laughter.
11:37 "Alligator."
11:38 And Richard Dawson puts a hand on his shoulder as if to say, "Well, you tried."
11:44 The contestant explained that he thought the challenge was to name an animal with three
11:48 of the same letters, but even then, Alligator still doesn't fit the bill.
11:52 It's just a massive fail all around.
11:55 "You don't use narcotics, do you, Bob?"
11:58 Number 5, Pie in the Horse.
12:00 "This could be something really good or you about to be on YouTube."
12:05 Well, we all knew this was going to be interesting.
12:07 During Celebrity Family Feud, Snoop Dogg is tasked with performing in the Fast Money Round,
12:12 where he has to fill in the blank, "Pie in the what?"
12:15 To which Snoop, devoid of all apparent logic, answers, "Horse, because why not?"
12:21 "Horse."
12:22 Steve's response is priceless, as he legitimately doesn't know what Snoop has said,
12:28 and when he figures it out, he proceeds to go on one of his characteristic rants.
12:32 Well, Snoop ended up fulfilling Steve's prophecy after all.
12:36 He ended up on YouTube, and we all had a good laugh.
12:38 "I mean, your brain cells have suffered a little bit.
12:41 You gotta have moments like this."
12:44 Number 4, Gynecologist.
12:46 "Gynecologist."
12:47 Gotta say, as bad as this answer was, no one has ever seen a look of regret come upon a
12:53 contestant's face so quickly before.
12:56 After being tasked with naming a job that is dirty but someone has to do it, Rocco says,
13:00 "Plumber."
13:01 A great answer.
13:02 Too bad the same answer was already taken by his Fast Money partner.
13:05 Thinking quickly, perhaps a little too quickly, Rocco blurts out, "Gynecologist,"
13:10 only to stand there in stunned and awkward silence with Steve,
13:14 as the audience and his family laugh all around them.
13:17 Rocco's family is never gonna let this one go, especially his wife.
13:23 "I can't even repeat it."
13:24 Number 3, Naked Grandma.
13:26 "Naked Grandma!"
13:27 "Naked, huh?"
13:28 Oh, sorry, not Naked Grandma, it's Naked Grandma.
13:33 This bold answer is easily one of Family Feud's most popular,
13:37 as it's been making the rounds on the internet for some time.
13:40 Steve asks the contestants to name something a burglar would not want to see when he breaks
13:45 into a house, to which Rod very passionately yells, "Naked Grandma!"
13:49 Steve doesn't like the answer, to say the least.
13:52 "You're thinking, you know, an owner with a gun, you're thinking, you know, a dog."
13:57 "Right."
13:57 "This country dude, a Naked Grandma!"
14:02 And then, unexpectedly, Rod actually receives the points due to one of the answers being
14:07 "occupant."
14:07 This has to be one of the biggest stretches in Family Feud history, but hey, it is technically
14:13 correct.
14:13 "What's the chances of seeing somebody's grandmama naked when you break into a house?"
14:17 "Yeah."
14:17 "And why is that a concern of yours?"
14:20 Number 2, September.
14:21 "During what months of pregnancy does a woman begin to look pregnant?"
14:25 "September."
14:26 This answer is at least right some of the time.
14:29 When host Richard Dawson asks this contestant the question, "During which month does a woman
14:34 start to look pregnant?"
14:35 she gives an answer that, judging by her confidence and quick response, might be based more on
14:40 personal experience than what a survey says.
14:43 Dawson is so flabbergasted by the answer that he even asks to "reset the clock" because
14:48 he's too busy laughing to continue the game.
14:50 "I have to reset the clock because I just laughed at her."
14:53 As if that weren't enough, he continues breaking out into fits of laughter for the
14:57 next several minutes.
14:58 Sometimes, even the pros can't hold themselves together.

15:15 Number 1, Mommy and Nana
15:19 "How about Nana?"
15:21 Sheila must have been messing with Steve because there is no way these were legitimate answers.
15:27 Steve asks the Patterson family to give him another way people say "mother."
15:31 What follows is absolute anarchy.
15:34 Sheila originally gives the answer "Nana" despite the person before her saying the exact
15:40 same thing.
15:41 After getting another chance, she says "Mommy" despite the answer already being on the board.
15:46 She then gives "Mommy" and "Nana" as answers again but pronounced slightly differently,
15:52 while Steve slowly loses his sanity.
15:55 "Stop clapping.
15:56 What is you trying to say it in Spanish or something?"
16:00 After finally saying "Mom" once more, Steve just stops the game before this
16:05 madness can continue indefinitely.
16:07 And it very well may have.
16:09 Do you agree with our picks?
