00:00Hi, my name is Sam, Digital Reporter for the Lancashire Post, and come with me as I visit
00:06the new Loom Loft Docklands store in Preston ahead of its grand opening. With the store,
00:12they've also opened the Loft Bistro, so I went to try some of their new food ahead of
00:17its opening.
00:20So Loom Loft has just opened its new 23,000 square feet premises on Preston Docklands,
00:27which also features Loom Bistro inside. Loft Bistro, which is the second of its kind, has
00:34proven to be a popular and enjoyable concept at its previous Clitheroe location. It features
00:40a diverse menu which owners say will be great for informal breakfasts, lunches, business
00:45meetings and meeting up with friends.
00:47Stepping into the Bistro, I was really impressed with the atmosphere and decor, as I felt it
00:51really went well with the store and kept those same modern themes.
00:56Speaking to Marketing Manager at Loom Loft, Tracy Leeming, she said,
01:01As soon as we decided to open our new store at the docks, we definitely wanted there to
01:05be a bistro, and the food does not disappoint.
01:09So with a chef who's worked alongside Gordon Ramsay in the past, I had high expectations
01:14for the menu, but it did not disappoint. They had small plates, signature dishes and sandwiches,
01:19as well as your cold drinks and hot drinks that a bistro would normally serve. Yet these
01:24were a class above your normal bistro. I got a real sense of high quality and was looking
01:29forward to my meal. Looking round, I could definitely tell that this is the sort of place
01:34you'd want to go in after shopping at Loom Loft.
01:37To warm into the meal, I went for a chai tea, which came with a little shortbread, and that
01:41was a nice start into the meal, but for the main event, and what I was looking forward
01:45to, which was a slow-cooked sticky beef sandwich, which came with a portion of chunky chips,
01:52a fresh salad, as well as a pot of gravy to dip it all into.
01:56Now as you can see, I struggled a bit picking it up, but it was really nice. The beef was
02:04tender, it had caramelised onions on, which really paired well with the beef, and those
02:12chunky chips were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired with that gravy
02:17made for a really nice combination. And I think the thing that really rounded the whole
02:23dish off was that fresh kick of salad, so yeah, I would definitely recommend. And overall,
02:30if you're shopping in Loom Loft, I would definitely recommend going into the bistro.
