00:00I could never imagine going to an unknown place without family or friends, where every
00:05day is filled with uncertainty, because in this day and age, in Australia, I am a young
00:12person who can attend school, go out town with mates and live without being afraid.
00:19Although Anzac Day is a date that commemorates the landing of 16,000 Australian and New Zealand
00:25soldiers on the shore of the Gallipoli Peninsula, today we recognise and remember all of those
00:31who served and continue to serve, so that we can have the freedoms that we do today.
00:38Australians and New Zealanders have always come together to support each other during
00:41difficult times.
00:42Whether it be on the front line, defending our country, natural disasters around the
00:48world, or even just a shoulder to cry on, our Anzacs led by example.
00:54Through great courage they showed when landing on unknown soils, their endurance to push
01:00on even when there seemed to be no hope, but most importantly, their mateship, relying
01:05on one another, going through the ups and downs as a family unit.
