An incredible new submarine looks like a UFO.
The Triton 660/9 AVA has been launched as the ultimate vessel for deep sea sightseeing.
Florida-based Triton say their craft features the world’s first submersible with a free-form acrylic pressure hull.
It has been specifically designed for the cruise and hospitality sectors, with the ability to dive to 200m.
Nine occupants – eight guests plus a pilot - are able to view undersea world through a large bubble-like window.
Triton say the subs are able to be quickly reconfigured between dives, and can offer a variety of dive activities, including dining or cocktail dives, spa treatments, or even subsea gaming experiences.
Following successful sea trials, DNV certification, and delivery to Valparaiso, Chile by Boeing 747 aircraft, Triton submarines have now been fully integrated on board Scenic Eclipse II cruise ship, operated by Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours.
Patrick Lahey, President and Co-Founder, Triton Submarines, said: " We thank Scenic for their belief in Triton and our capacity to deliver the highly innovative Triton 660/9 AVA, which represents a new paradigm in the way people experience and interact with the ocean."
Jason Flesher, Scenic Director of Discovery Operations, said: "The clarity of the acrylic hull once submerged is such that you feel at one with the water.
"Encountering the vibrant marine life of the South Pacific and Australia’s Great Barrier Reef within Scenic Neptune II will create memories to last a lifetime."

00:00 I'm extremely proud of what we've built at Triton Submarines.
00:04 Since 2007, we've created the world's safest and most technologically advanced luxury deep
00:10 submersibles.
00:13 Triton has always pushed the boundaries of what's possible.
00:18 And along with all the manufacturers of certified and accredited submersibles, we enjoy a four-year
00:24 track record of perfect safety.
00:28 Our latest endeavor is no different.
00:33 In the engineering office, we get input from our in-house manufacturing experts and some
00:38 of the world's most experienced offshore operations personnel.
00:42 The Averhull's unique shape enables for a high-capacity vehicle a depth and viewing
00:46 experience which is historically reserved for our smaller capacity subs.
00:52 It really is pushing the boundary in the submarine industry and opening doors on what kind of
00:57 vehicles we can create and what kind of experiences we can offer.
01:02 As the design of a new submersible turns to the production phase, only the highest quality
01:07 components are selected and tested from around the globe.
01:13 Our world-class engineers and technicians check and assemble everything by hand.
01:19 Another way we ensure that we only build the safest and highest quality underwater vehicles
01:25 in the world is insisting on the involvement of third-party, internationally recognized
01:30 classification societies like ABS and DNV.
01:33 DNV certification means this submersible has been inspected beginning at the first drawing
01:39 to the very end of the seaplanes.
01:42 We as a DNV surveyor are inside of the submersible at the first dive to maximum depth to prove
01:48 our confidence in this product.
01:50 That means this submersible is absolutely safe for passengers and their future use.
01:58 Our latest project fuses the greatest elements of all our technologies into one new, groundbreaking
02:04 submersible rated to carry 9 people to 200 meters or 660 feet.
02:12 Introducing the Triton 669 Ava.
02:18 A vessel of discovery crafted for extraordinary experiences.
02:27 With its groundbreaking pressure hole design, it offers a versatile interior that adapts
02:32 to a client's needs.
02:37 Providing panoramic views for unparalleled underwater journeys.
02:41 The Triton 660 Ava transforms exploration, offering intimate connections with the underwater
02:48 world's private owners and the luxury hospitality sector.
02:55 This isn't just a submarine, it's changing our experience with the ocean forever.
