00:00Did you feel like it was working so well for you guys
00:02out of the locker room at halftime?
00:04Yeah, we just try to play the right way
00:07on both ends of the floor.
00:10Try to play down, you know, get in the paint,
00:13kick outs, drive close outs, one more extra passes.
00:17And then defensively, we try to, you know,
00:19send it up, apply pressure, be in the paint,
00:22close out the shooters, just do everything
00:24that we're good in our capabilities to get a lead.
00:29And then that second unit came in,
00:31felt like they still kept it going.
00:33You know, Mike, again, another really good performance
00:35from them.
00:36What did you think of the performance
00:37in the reverse tonight?
00:38Yeah, it was good.
00:40I've said this before.
00:41We need everybody when we play.
00:43We need everyone to contribute in order for us to get a win.
00:46And you guys have seen how much fun it is to run out.
00:48Guys are ready.
00:49Guys are coming in to play big minutes.
00:50And obviously, it does crush the board.
00:53Sure, you had the win.
00:54Akil got the edge in scoring.
00:56What was that?
00:58It was fun.
01:00I'm happy he played well.
01:02I'm happy he lost.
01:03So I'm going to go to sleep happy tonight.
01:06Akil has been attacking the rim all season long.
01:10Tonight, he really popped 27 on just 13 shot attempts.
01:15What stood out to you about the way he was able to finish
01:19and then get himself to the line of action?
01:21Yeah, he's let the game come to him tonight.
01:26The shooting was open.
01:28When they made him drive, he drove close outs.
01:31He made great plays in the rim.
01:33And he was getting better at that.
01:35As the season moved on, the game was on.
01:37Great decisions and kind of getting the feel for playing.
01:40You know what he does, I mean, defensively.
01:43So he's going to get better offensively as well.
01:45Well, kind of two of the defining shifts in the game were
01:4915-0 run in the second quarter, 14-1 run in the third quarter.
01:54What does it take in those moments to extend those stretches
01:57as long as you did, seven, eight, nine possessions in a row?
02:01You know, there's always a formula for getting stops and scoring.
02:08You just try to do that as many times in a row as possible.
02:11And we know what those are for us as a unit.
02:13That's what we try to focus on in possession.
02:16Shay, I want to ask one follow-up about Akil.
02:19What have you seen from him or just talking to him about him
02:34and then his role?
02:37You know, I mean, me and him are so close.
02:43Like, I know what he's capable of.
02:47So, like, it's no, like, me and him, we talk about him.
02:49He gets the opportunity.
02:51He works super hard.
02:53And it all comes from circuit form.
02:55I mean, that's how it comes down to it.
02:58Anybody else in the audience?
03:01All right, we'll go to Daniel Bell on Zoom.
03:05Hey, Shay, can you talk about the composure this team shows?
03:09You don't really see young teams be this poised,
03:12especially this early in the season.
03:16Yeah, we have no choice.
03:20We've got to be composed.
03:21We've got to be composed.
03:22We've got to stay in the moment.
03:25And every moment, every opportunity,
03:26we try to do the right thing to help our team get a W.
03:30And if we take care of that, we'll have an edge over teams that aren't
03:34poised, players that aren't poised, whatever it is.
03:36We just try to give ourselves every advantage we possibly can
03:38and control what we can control every night.
03:41Last one for your co-sponsor.
03:44Hey, Shay, great game, first of all.
03:46For you, how enjoyable is it to be the leader of this team on the floor?
03:50And how big is the growth of that group as the game goes on this season?
03:56Yeah, we're getting better every night.
03:59I personally can feel it.
04:01Guys are getting more comfortable playing together.
04:03And I knew with the group of guys we had that it would come.
04:07But obviously, it's fun.
04:09It's what you go through and what we all work our whole life to do.
04:12It's playing basketball at this level.
04:14We're trying to get better together every day.
04:17And I'm just happy to be a part of it.
04:19Thank you, Shay.
04:20You're welcome.
04:21You're welcome.
04:22Welcome, everyone.
