00:00Hey, Eric Williams here with Sports Illustrated. I cover the Rams. I'm joined by Fernando Ramirez, who covers the Chargers.
00:06We were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium at SoFi and a lot of the different cool places that you can watch the game. So take a look.
00:14I remember when this was, you know, Stan Kroenke said, hey, we're going to try to make Hollywood Park a destination and build an NFL stadium and bring the NFL back to Los Angeles.
00:27And from that to actually seeing this come to fruition now has just been an unbelievable ride. And there's so much pride, I think, in everybody who's been part of this.
00:37And then to see it actually come to life. I mean, there's been over 17,000 workers here at SoFi Stadium in Hollywood Park over the last few years to put Stan Kroenke's vision together, which is to build a world-class sports entertainment destination.
00:51And we're so excited to be able to share that with the world. I can't wait for the Rams and Cowboys game on the 13th.
00:57You know, I don't want to say it's a dream come true because I don't even know if we dreamed this was possible.
01:03But I think it's a special moment for Los Angeles when you think about the fact that Los Angeles has never had an NFL stadium.
01:12NFL football was played in state college football stadiums that were built in the 1920s that were singular goals to be the first time NFL football has ever been played on split levels, you know, in the NFL, let alone eight different levels.
01:25If you go out and you look at it, I know you've had the tour. It looks like a video game. It doesn't even look real. We're going to end up with WrestleMania, the Summer Olympic Games, Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup.
01:44So what this is, is this marks the resurrection of the city of champions.
01:51This is the NFL will allow you to physically get. And you do like you can imagine being here on a kickoff, you know, and the receivers coming at you or, you know, fourth quarter, red zone, touchdown coming your way, the excitement that can happen on this on this level.
02:08Hey, you know what? If you're in a if you're in a good spot to be thinking about live entertainment, let's make it all about 21. There's clarity now. It's not about payment or buying your tickets for 2020. It's about looking forward.
02:20So that that narrative really helped us. And we made that change almost a month or so ago. So there's a lot of good momentum.
02:27You know, I think both teams being well positioned in terms of, you know, on the field, hard knocks, all those things have helped, I think, get some subsets of fans really focused on 21 and all that that will bring.
02:40But now this is the piece de resistance.
02:43Truly a unique experience for us to get to see the behind the scenes on the stadium.
02:48Too bad they won't be able to play with fans like everybody was telling us until 2021.
02:53You'll be here next week covering Rams and Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. I'll be in Cincinnati covering Bengals Chargers.
03:00And the week after that, I'll be here, Kansas City and the Chargers. So it'll be a good it'll be a good experience for us to see the stadium.
03:08Like I said, no fans, but hey, it's 2020. Let's just keep on going.
