00:00Since 2010, a running back or quarterback have won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, except just one year.
00:07That's nine of the last ten years, with that one being Odell Beckham Jr. as the wide receiver.
00:12Luckily today, we are talking about a quarterback and running backs that are the odds-on favorite to win this year's Offensive Rookie of the Year.
00:20For that, I go to Jamie Eisner, Frank Tadeo, two of our gambling and fantasy insiders here at Sports Illustrated.
00:26Frank, I'll start with you. Give me a quarterback and a running back you think has a good chance to take home this year's award.
00:32Yeah, for me, Bill, it's clearly we're going to start at the top with Joe Burrow at odds of two and a half to one.
00:37Clearly, he's expected to be the week one starter for the Cincinnati Bengals, and as we know, this award is predicated upon stats.
00:44And he's expected to throw for over 3,800 yards right now by the oddsmakers, and he's going to get all of the opportunity to acclaim this award.
00:51From the running back position, I really love the odds and the attractiveness of Jonathan Taylor, who was selected by the Indianapolis Colts.
00:59The former Wisconsin Badger and the two-time Doak Award winner is clearly going to have an opportunity to steal a job from Marlon Mack in Indianapolis.
01:09And I think running behind one of the best offensive lines in the league, and if I can get him at nearly ten to one odds right now, I clearly am going to be jumping all over him as my long shot play.
01:20But for me, it's Burrow and Taylor in this award.
01:24Jamie, I'll go over to you.
01:25Who do you like that the sportsbooks are laying odds on as a favorite?
01:29And then give me a long shot.
01:31Yeah, let's look at Clyde Edwards-Hillaire, the last pick of the first round off the Kansas City.
01:35Eight to one is the number two option in a lot of sportsbooks.
01:38Look, he's going to join a very dynamic offense that's going to play in a lot of big games, a lot of primetime games, and that matters to voters.
01:45If you see a player, if they're making big plays and big offenses, they're going to get attention.
01:49And for a long shot play, I'm looking at Justin Herbert at 20 to one.
01:53I'm all about the narrative on this one.
01:55I don't think he starts in week one, but if the Chargers, as talented as they are, struggle out of the gates and he takes over for Tyrod Taylor, a lot like Baker Mayfield did in Cleveland a couple years ago, and leads an extremely talented team to the postseason, I think he's going to get a lot of consideration.
02:10Plenty more NFL gambling news still to come and analysis right here from Sports Illustrated.
