00:00 There's a restaurant in London that are using insect meat for protein, so like a burger but it
00:05 would be made of insect meat. Is that something you'd try? Oh yeah it's a good idea yeah, the
00:10 more that we can do to avoid eating beef which is extremely destructive and produces masses of CO2 to
00:16 cultivate it, so yeah I think it's a good idea. In the autumn of 2023 a pop-up store in Shoreditch
00:24 started taking the capital by storm, but why? Well let's just say everyone was bugging me to go there.
00:32 That's right an insect based pop-up were getting swarms of customers and have now opened up an
00:38 actual restaurant called Yumbug. Yumbug substitutes the usual meats for crickets and they are really
00:45 pushing the boundaries. The cambridgeshire farmed bugs are turned into mincemeat, strips or chunks
00:52 and even crumbs before being used in various recipes. On the menu at the Yumbug restaurant
00:58 in Finsbury Park right now there are cricket koftas with roasted peanut hummus, cricket
01:04 Cornish pasty and even a cricket lasagna. But would Londoners really be up for going out for dinner
01:10 and eating insects? Oh yeah it's a good idea yeah, the more that we can do to avoid eating beef
01:16 which is extremely destructive and produces masses of CO2 to cultivate it, so yeah I think it's a good
01:22 idea. Yeah probably, prawns are only kind of sea insects aren't they really? I've eaten grasshoppers
01:31 so I'm sure and snails so why not? No I wouldn't have that, I do not understand that,
01:39 I don't support that but that's my own opinion. Actually um no, not insects yeah.
01:48 Yeah I'd be open to try it yeah yeah I mean you know intuitively it doesn't sound great
01:55 but I presume they do it in a way that it actually tastes like meat so yeah.
