00:00 So the guys played hard, they played physical today.
00:03 Some people say we didn't have anything to play for.
00:05 We disagree with that.
00:07 Played a really good football team in Kansas City.
00:08 We wish them well.
00:10 But it's in the road for us.
00:13 Now it's time to go to work and get ready for 2020.
00:14 >> In terms of the season, I think when you look at the finish and
00:20 where you guys are at, what are two or three things that stick out that led you
00:24 to where you're at now?
00:25 >> Well, one, we didn't take the ball away enough and
00:28 we turned the ball over too much this year.
00:30 And I gotta go back and look at just the coaching staff and
00:33 myself, positions that we put the guys in.
00:36 And why all of a sudden we turned the ball over more this year than we did in
00:40 the last couple years.
00:41 So, I mean, it's a team effort, it's everybody.
00:45 >> [INAUDIBLE]
00:53 >> Well, he was trying to get a score.
00:55 We wanted to get a touchdown there, but we would have settled for a field goal.
00:59 But they made a good play on it.
01:02 >> And you have a big decision coming up with quarterback.
01:06 Where do you go moving forward?
01:08 Is there a timetable for moving forward?
01:11 >> Right now, it's just sandwiched.
01:13 It's not something that I'm thinking much about right now.
01:15 Just I feel for the guys in the locker room, the staff.
01:18 When I just lost the horse ball game and when the dust settle,
01:23 we'll evaluate everyone and we'll see who we're bringing back.
01:26 >> [INAUDIBLE]
01:32 >> Unless you know something, I don't.
01:34 Yeah.
01:34 >> Coach, I'm sitting here in Kansas City, but from a distance,
01:39 it looks like you guys are operating at a disadvantage with no home field advantage.
01:43 I mean, your quarterback talked about it a little bit last week.
01:46 Just that's what we see.
01:47 Does that affect the football team?
01:49 Does that hurt you guys?
01:50 >> You know, it's always nice to have a home field advantage.
01:53 Obviously, when you come to a place like this and you see the crowd and
01:55 the environment, I mean, that's great, but we don't play the crowd.
01:59 I mean, we play the team on the football field and that's what we can control and
02:04 no excuses, it is what it is.
02:06 >> What's your assessment of how the defense played today at home?
02:10 >> At times, I thought they played well.
02:11 There were some plays, like the 86 short run.
02:15 I mean, we gotta get everybody to the ball.
02:17 You can't be waiting for someone else to make the play.
02:19 You gotta go make the play.
02:21 But at times, I thought they played well.
02:23 But the 37 at the end, giving up the big play down the middle.
02:28 We can't have those type of explosions against this football team.
02:31 >> What was the schematic in that play?
02:33 I think you had Drew running underneath.
02:35 >> We had Drew running underneath and you had Safey over top.
02:39 I'm not quite sure the position our safety was in.
02:42 I have to watch the tape and see.
02:43 >> So you'd like to have safety to help hold the top of the house?
02:45 >> Absolutely, absolutely.
02:46 >> At the end of that long run, the long touchdown run,
02:50 you had a lot of play on the floor.
02:52 It looked like some guys stopped.
02:54 >> Yeah, I think some guys thought, we had two guys that made the play.
02:57 I think they ran into each other and fell off the ball carrier.
03:01 But as some guys slowed down, the pursuit slowed down a little bit,
03:05 because they thought someone else had made the play.
03:06 >> Third down defense has been an issue all season.
03:10 What are your thoughts there?
03:11 What can you do?
03:12 >> Those are some of the things that we're gonna look at and
03:14 make some adjustments.
03:15 I can tell you that.
03:16 >> Coach, I know this isn't your job, but
03:19 what do you think about this Kansas City team?
03:21 Are they capable of getting to the Super Bowl?
03:24 I can't say they haven't been to the Super Bowl since '07.
03:26 >> I think Kansas City is playing their best football right now,
03:29 defensively and offensively and special teams.
03:31 So I think they're a very dangerous football team.
03:33 >> All right, thanks guys.
03:36 >> Yeah.
03:36 >> Thank you coach, thank you.
03:38 >> [INAUDIBLE]
03:49 >> What do you think of this device I'm bringing in?
03:51 >> Yeah.
03:52 >> [INAUDIBLE]
