00:16 Yes, he was pretty surprised when I called him and told him that I actually wanted to

00:21 I think a lot of people don't realize that he was a pretty good baseball player himself.
00:25 Did he negotiate the coverage here?
00:29 He did not, but he did negotiate his own deals as a player.
00:33 At one point, he was leading the team in batting average.
00:36 The next year, he went to his bosses and said that he thought he deserved to be paid a little
00:41 bit more than the minimum.
00:43 They agreed, and he said that was his first negotiation.
00:46 What kind of numbers did he put up?
00:49 Unfortunately, some of those numbers are lost to history, but he hit pretty well.
00:55 He had a pretty good eye.
00:57 Not a lot of power, not a lot of defensive range, but he was a pretty good player.
