00:00 After receiving not so good news last week, it sounds like the NBA has started crafting
00:04 a plan for return.
00:06 That's not to say it's a guarantee that basketball will be back to crown a champion this year,
00:11 but behind the scenes, there's a lot of work going into the "what if" plan of getting the
00:15 game back.
00:16 Just last week, ESPN's Brian Winhurst reported that the NBA was angling more towards canceling
00:21 the season rather than returning.
00:24 This week, he's been singing a different tune though.
00:26 During his appearance on SportsCenter, Winhurst revealed that executives and trainers around
00:30 the league are working on a 25-day return plan if and when the NBA gets cleared for
00:36 return by medical professionals.
00:38 The plan would be to implement an 11-day series of individual workouts for players, then a
00:44 14-day training camp where teams ramp up the intensity and go 5-on-5.
00:49 Having only 25 days to prepare for playoff basketball after spending several months off
00:53 is far from ideal, but at this point, the NBA doesn't have too much wiggle room.
00:58 The league wants to make a comeback, but we won't know if that's possible until at least
01:02 May 1st, according to Commissioner Adam Silver.
01:05 While the unknown makes it hard to get excited about the NBA coming back, at the very least,
01:10 there are plans being discussed to make a return as opposed to discussing how to cancel
01:15 the season.
