Could LSU quarterback Joe Burrow hack in the NBA?

00:00Presumptive number one pick in the NFL draft, Joe Burrow is not lacking in confidence as
00:05he told Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks he could score 12 to 15 points in an NBA game.
00:12To discuss whether that's realistic, I'm joined now by gambling analyst Corey Parson and our
00:16own Ben Pickman who had the story up on SI.com.
00:19Corey, you know, he is a good athlete.
00:21He was able to run away from those Alabama guys.
00:23I can assume he could play a little basketball and he did say that it would be under the
00:28conditions he was playing with, say, a LeBron James or a Chris Paul.
00:31Nevertheless, what would you set the over-under on for points, Joe Burrow, in an NBA game?
00:36Well, what's interesting is Joe Burrow does have a little bit of a basketball background.
00:41His senior year of high school, he actually made the all-Ohio team.
00:45He was on that team with Luke Kennard, actually, who plays for the Detroit Pistons right now.
00:49But listen, 15 is crazy.
00:51Carmelo Anthony is averaging 15 points right now.
00:54I think Joe Burrow, 6'4", 214, 215-ish.
00:59I would say, good athlete like that, I'd set the number at 9.5.

01:07Are you taking the over-under or the under for Joe Burrow, you know, the new Matthew
01:13Dell of Adobe at 9.5?
01:14Right, I mean, I think you're spot on, Robin.
01:17That number is a little too high.
01:18I mean, I would say more in the 1 to 2, maybe 0 even, range.
01:23I mean, I think we've seen with Dell of Adobe, who Burrow says is his comparison, Dell of
01:28Adobe is just a 5.6 points per game for his career.
01:31So even that comparison is a little out of whack because it's not like Dell is scoring
01:35like 10 or 12 or 15 or 20 points a game like Burrow loots.
01:39We saw ahead of the Peach Bowl, Burrow actually took some jump shots in some kind of competition
01:44against Oklahoma players.
01:46And we saw him make 4 of 6 at the line, 6 of 6 from 3.
01:49But it had very, very, very friendly rims.
01:53Rims that you really don't see, and one even looks crooked.
01:56And so that's really some recent evidence.
01:57Now, as Corey alluded, he does have a history of playing basketball, both himself in high
02:01school and his family.
02:03His grandfather actually started at Point Guard in Mississippi State in the 1940s.
02:07His mother and his grandmother in high school actually averaged 50 points a game one season,
02:12and one scored 82 points in a single game.
02:14And that's from a story from our own Ross Dellinger.
02:16But I think 9 is a little bit of a high number for Joe Burrow.
02:20Stick to football, I think.
02:21If no one knew he was on the floor and he could just hit the open shots, fine.
02:25But if people are focusing on him, then I'm setting the over-under where he's going to
02:29get picked in the NFL draft, and that's at 1.
