The Philadelphia 76ers have helped with COVID-19 relief in numerous ways.

00:00The Philadelphia 76ers might not have the opportunity to produce on the court at the moment,
00:04but members of the organization are still looking for ways to contribute to the city
00:08that they represent. Last week, the Sixers were under fire as the team's managing partner,
00:13Josh Harris, looked to save costs by enforcing pay cuts to select team employees. But since then,
00:19the team has been on a roll as they lend a helping hand to their respective communities.
00:24Sixers center Joel Embiid has donated $500,000 to COVID-19 relief in Philadelphia,
00:29while Ben Simmons fired up the Philly Pledge, which brought some of Philly's top athletes
00:34together to promote two local nonprofits. In just a week's time, the Philly Pledge has generated
00:40over $350,000 in donations. One of the more notable donors for the pledge happened to be
00:45Sixers managing partner Josh Harris, who has made multiple contributions to a handful of funds
00:51since the beginning of the week. And lastly, Sixers big man Al Horford wrapped up Thursday's
00:56events with a $500,000 donation, which will be spread to the Dominican Republic,
01:01Michigan, Gainesville, Atlanta, Boston, and Philadelphia.
