00:00I'm Melissa Rowland with Sports Illustrated and we're here with Jill Painter-Lopez.
00:09Now Jill, yesterday, Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Boston Celtics
00:16was re-aired.
00:17That was obviously a huge game and not only are those teams great rivals, the rivalry
00:22extends way back in history, but it was also the last time the Lakers won the NBA championship.
00:27What were your biggest takeaways from that game?
00:30Well Melissa, it was really heartwarming to see all the emotion and the outpouring of
00:35support and people who watched that game online.
00:38Everybody was talking about it.
00:40You know, it was the last time we got to see Kobe Bryant, you know, holding that basketball
00:44with the confetti behind him with his girls, his two girls, oldest girls who were very
00:49young back then.
00:50Of course, we got to see Ron Artest, now men of world peace.
00:54He thanked his psychologist after winning the game and that really set the stage for
00:58other players such as now Kevin Love to talk openly about if they're battling anxiety or
01:04depression and mental health issues.
01:06So those were two of the things afterwards.
01:08But I think during this COVID-19 pandemic, it was just really cool for all of us to be
01:12able to re-watch something that was so heartwarming and so fun for Laker fans and everyone here
01:18in Los Angeles.
01:19And I think, you know, during this time being able to watch games, even if they happened
01:24a decade ago, such as this one, it just really does the heart good.
